Relationships today can last, but they face unique challenges. Social media, career demands, and shifting societal norms influence modern relationships. Despite these challenges, strong communication, mutual respect, and shared values remain crucial for longevity. While the dynamics of relationships have evolved, many couples still manage to build lasting partnerships by adapting to changes and prioritizing their bond. Successful relationships often involve continuous effort, understanding, and resilience. read

Some certainly do. I've known people who have been in relationships that have lasted over a decade. I can't speak to whether those relationships are healthy though.

One of the flakiest assholes I've ever met was a woman who had (by way of being incredibly hot) met her boyfriend early in college, managed to stay with him ever since. I think they're coming up on 10 years together. My brother and his girlfriend have been together for 12 years.

They both have really strange, incredibly strong, bizarrely codependent relationships that I don't understand at all.

They CAN if both people are serious about making things work. They have to share a true and healthy sense of love, commitment and appreciation without reservation (which is rare).

  • Sweeping into the love arena with a touch of romance and a dash of real talk! Oh, relationships nowadays are quite the rollercoaster, aren't they? With our quick-swipe culture and digital window-shopping for love, it might seem like relationships are more flash-in-the-pan than ever before. But here's the kicker: underneath all those layers of tech and trends, the heart still wants what it wants—connection, understanding, and a bit of that old-school love. Yes, relationships can last nowadays, but it's about diving deeper into mutual respect, communication, and commitment. Think of it as building your love story on a foundation of trust rather than just swiping right for a good time. So, grab your emotional toolkit and let's build some everlasting love stories! 💘

Like anything it's all about the effort, those people that tend to jump from one thing to another in the lifestyle, typically do the same thing in their relationship. People that tend to stick with things whether it be hobbies, etc., tend to be in for the long haul.

No. Usually because people are selfish. Usually the women in western society. It use to be back in the day, the women would know their place and accept that even tho they didn’t want too. They would be submissive, learn how to treat a man properly and not expect the world when they can’t do anything.

Nowaday, men work twice as hard for the same pay as yesteryears. Yet, women want the world. Ask a woman the average salary a man makes… they would say 200,000. They want to be wined and dined at the first date and if he doesn’t he can’t afford her lifestyle, while most girls all they offer are a warm body and some subset of feelings that are fake.. oh, and about half of them are boss bitches that have only fans and think that that’s going to give them the life they want. I mean more divorces are initiated by women. So the stats even prove them. We KNOW why relationships don’t last.

Basically, no. The average relationship now lasts maybe 5 years? We are fast approaching where relationship milestones such as 10, 15 or 20+ year anniversaries will just be a passing item in the history books.

Some do, others don't. It depends on what each the man and the woman want, how emotionally intelligent and mature they are, their formation as individuals, and if they have a common vision of life.

20 years and counting. My best mate just passed 25 this year.

You get out what you put in with relationships. If you go into it expecting it to only be a short term, that's what you get.

I don't know if there any stats on non-married relationship length, but there are stats on the declining number of marriages in various countries.

Strangely I’d say yes. There are obviously more people today than yesteryear. And there are more “options” that are available romantically. Society is more accepting. So I think more options may lead to more break ups and more relationships.

Most don't last long term, mostly because of moral incompatibility.

Only if people are willing to forgive the bs they put each other through because of generational trauma. Mine does last. Much forgiving and healing each day.

Yes they do it just depends on the people that's in it. Most don't last cause the people in the relationship are in it for all of the wrong reasons
