We know too much. I suppose the story of the tree of knowledge just goes on and on. We keep learning and when we learn something new we change accordingly. Women don't want to be breeding stock, men don't want to be the care takers of adult size children. It's caused relationships between the sexes to be strained. But, that stuff just won't do when you know there is something more. Personally I think we need artificial wombs and AI parents to raise the children so people can get on with their lives. It's just the natural consequence of the inquisitive human brain we have. Human sexuality was never that great in the first place.

If you don't have anybody in your life to model commitment, respect and love, you will not understand its importance and value in your own marriage later on, unless you get therapy or work hard on your personal character building during the process of dating and marriage.

Plenty do. I will say that marriage is not longer socially mandatory and people generally have more options than in the past, so remaining in a marriage with someone you no longer love isn't as necessary as it once was.

Vows are important, but sacrificing your happiness for the rest of your life isn't necessarily worth it to everyone.
