+1 yThe low need for commitment. At least it feels like that like people go into a relationship having their head that they could break up when the first crisis arises and no one will think as a problem.
Another reason is the lack of preparation for it like there are things that people worry about when it´s to late but they are crucial for a relationship. Like you how do argue? Because there is a different of arguing: Do you discuss arguments or do you discuss feelings and wanna defeat the other by hurting their feelings?
Another reason is the missing need for commitment, like there are so many open-type relationship concepts that many guys rather prefer something sexual and open because that leaves them without responsibility that it is hard to convince a woman that you´re not like that. (At least that´s what it feels like to me)
Unclear communications: Women and men communicate differently and for different reasons, but especially in the younger generations women and guys tend to mis- or not understand each other anymore. Like guys don´t know what women want and vice versa.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yBecause people say "IT" didn't work out. What is this mysterious "IT" that was supposed to work out everything for them while they did nothing?
WE didn't work (so now we are) out.
The point is people don't want to do the work. Work it is. We sometimes don't want to work but we do why? For the money, for the reward. Well then!!! Do the dam work in the relationship. Work on yourself not the other person. Build up the other person. Sacrifice for what is important, for that reward.
Show me a couple who does that and tell me they are not going strong.00 Reply
+1 yNo efficient communication = not fully understanding and validating your partner + not stating your views clearly and making sure they're understood and validated by your partner.
It just reflexes to so many problems that come from a misunderstanding.20 Reply
+1 yBecause people have changed what relationships used to be/used to mean into hookup culture, friends with benefits, online relationships with virtual strangers, infidelity, etc.

+1 yIf it's not unloyal behavior then it's lack of communication, no one speaks their mind to each other anymore, so there's no possible way of finding a solution to problems, if something bothers you then you tell your partner because that person can help you find a solution to the problem, if they don't know they will simply not do anything to fix that cause they are clueless about it so the person will just live to with their problems until more form and then they pile up which will end up ruining a relationship, obviously this goes both ways tho, the communication has to be from both sides.

+1 yI think it's more because we're taught things in a simple way and they aren't simple. So expectations and assumptions eventually act as survival methods and end up potentially ruining what could've been better situations all because for a majority no one is prepared. It's a bit of a mess and I think that's why typically people default to just sex as their survival method. Which on one side is okay and on the other side of the social club feel it's horrible. The unbalance causes confusion, and anxieties all over causing cold hearts, and also people just folding in for something not fit for them but it's security for their heart so they'll take it. Causes cheating because people don't actually know what they feel before they jump in. Again sometimes it is very simple and you just run into your perfect other but even then you won't always be ready for that but the world expects you to be ready for all of that. And also a life and living separated from that.

+1 yThat a lot of people think that a relationship is meant to be perfect and that if it's anything less then it's "settling" and they shouldn't be in it. A lot of people don't want to put in work or effort and as soon as they think there's something better they just drop the relationship. Nobody wants to think about the work that it takes to be in a relationship let alone actually do it.

+1 yPeople expecting them to be like Hollywood depicts: as rewards for"accomplishing" some goal of desirability, instead of as an adventure in their own right. And not a smooth one, either; WAY too many people think of any difficulty or disagreement as an excuse to break up.

+1 ySame reasons they ended before. The things that have changed are that we are aware of more people around the world and the dating pools are larger since people can travel further from where they were born.
Relationships still end at the same frequency, everyone being on social media and commenting their dating changes every moment is why we think it happens more these days.00 Reply

But most of all, Communication lacks or inability to communicate properly.
00 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Selfishness.
People might think they "love" the other but really they "love" themselves and WANT the other.
And if the other doesn't submit to the "love" then there's grounds for a break up or divorce.10 Reply6.8K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Nobody wants to do the work. It is a lot of work to have a successful marriage. Most people just give up and think they will just find somebody elsse.

+1 yThree things. 1. Not having a clear end goal in mind (people just get into relationships for the sake of it and leave at the first sign of some issue). 2. Lack of communication. 3. Cheating.
