Just make sure to go through all 5 stages of grief.

So many people stay stuck in stage 1 "denial" for a long time.

You throw yourself into your hobbies or work or whatever and never deal with the heartbreak to eventually reach acceptance and let that person go.

The you meet someone, you genuinely wanna build something. And somewhere along the way the ghost of your past relationship comes rearing his ugly head and you end up dumping a perfectly good and healthy partner that really wanted to give this a shot.

Him being heartbroken turns him into a fuckboy who in turn goes around breaking hearts and the cycle continues.

And yes I know all this from first hand experience.

I recommend taking a break... center yourself and get back to who you are without anyone. Enjoy doing the things you like to do such as fitness and thrifting like you mentioned above. You're young so taking a little break is not big deal.

Since this is happening “again” and you’re already considering finding someone new while right out of a relationship, tells me that you may not be so happy or comfortable being on your own and of course I could be wrong, but if I’m not then this could be a great opportunity to make a change.


Don’t get me wrong, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being on the market, finding a man, but it shouldn’t be too much of a priority. Relationships should only be an extension of an otherwise fulfilling life, so focus on yourself and your betterment for now. Let the rest fall into place.

It’s the best decision I made! After my last breakup I took several months to myself, so I could rediscover myself and figure out what sort of man I even wanted. Once I stopped putting men on the forefront and was focused on me and only me, that was when I met who I’m engaged to now. It didn’t take any work trying to find him, which was probably for the better too.
