In most of my break-ups, the situation has been the villain - one of us having to move away and the other being difficult or impossible to leave (this is, unfortunately, a common consequence of falling for girls who are from other countries, or, like my last girlfriend, who is from the opposite coast of the US and only in California because her mother earned a premium position at work a few years before retirement, and her mom was her only living family member).

I've "dated" other women who things didn't work out with, but we're either talking about 5 or less dates before it was clear that our values differed and it wasn't going to work, or in a couple of cases, it was more of a long-term friends with benefits arrangement, which had a known end date from the beginning.

I'd have to go back to high school to find a situation where I might have been seen as the villain, and I was only with that girl for about a month. And she was no saint herself.

Who cares? As long as I go on to have my own happy life with the person I was always destined to marry & settle down with a beautiful loving well meaning family going on my own life focused on personal goals, struggles, etc. Let me be the villain, idc because I would never wish harm onto them or hold a grudge I’d let them be them so idc.

We never dated but I was on and off with a guy for 1.5 years. He’s the villain in mine and me in his.
I was head over heels, never talked to anyone else, had eyes only for him, waited around for so long, baked for him… while he was texting a girl when I was in bed with him, got mono form a girl in town, follows half naked girls… but yet he went and told everyone I was a hoe💀🤣 I was vomiting and crying for ages when I found out he got with someone in the club.

Oh I'm sure. Even if you're not the villain people don't usually like to blame themselves fully. They'll say "oh I share a little bit of the blame" but then put the majority of it onto their ex. Without fail. So I'm sure an ex or two makes me out to be the bad person in the failed relationship. But we don't make our own realities. You can claim that the stars in the sky are actually candy, doesn't mean it's true.
