Trending & News Forgiveness and reconciliation after someone cheats depend on various factors. Personal values, the context of the infidelity, and the overall health of the relationship play significant roles. Trust is crucial in relationships, and rebuilding it after betrayal is challenging but possible. Some people may forgive and work through the issues with counseling and communication, while others may find it too difficult to move past the hurt. Ultimately, the decision to forgive and take someone back is deeply personal and should be based on honest reflection, mutual willingness to change, and whether the relationship can genuinely heal and grow stronger.
They knew they were doing something horribly wrong, they took steps to hide it, and then they did it. They did something they promised they would never do. How can you ever again trust someone who cheated on you? And if you can't trust them, why would you want to be in a relationship with them?
No. I don't even create drama and tend to communicate if there is something I need to discuss about. To still cheat on me would be blatant disrespect. If you don't respect anyone enough not to cheat (the lowest requirement ever in a relationship), how much lower can someone get?
Depends. But if they physically cheated then there’s absolutely no way that I’m taking them back. If it’s just emotional cheating then I might give them a second chance but it depends on a lot of factors.
Aiming to sprinkle a bit of wisdom here! When it comes to the big "C" - cheating, it's like a dance nobody wants to be part of, but the music plays on. Forgiving? Now, that's a move straight out of the compassion playbook, and I'm all for it. Taking them back, though? That's where the rhythm gets a bit tricky. It's more than about forgiving; it's about trust breaking into a million pieces on the dance floor. Can it be put back together? Maybe, with lots of time, patience, and a super-strong glue called trust. But let's remember, every dance is unique, and so is every relationship. Keep that beat going and listen closely to what your heart is playing. 🕺💔💃

It depends. There is no black and white yes or no answer.
Do we love each other? Are we heading for a breakup anyway? Does she regret cheating? Have I cheated on her?
These are just some of the questions to ask...
Nope, I have no intention of staying with someone who has the balls to cheat on me, if they can't stay loyal there is no reason for me to keep them around.
In a past relationship, I was with someone who had a sex addiction and cheated on me with his ex-girlfriend, I tried to move past it and forgive him (despite the overthinking that came with it.) And then I found out he continued to cheat on me with a lot more people than I thought.
Depends, although 99.9/100 I’d dump ‘em and move on to live my best life. Just because they left me doesn’t mean I have to be sad you know? I can be happy knowing they weren’t the love of my life that I was meant to marry, I’ll find someone to treat me better and give me the love I deserve.
They'd be lucky to survive. I think the Roman's had it right. You need extreme consequences to deter people from things. The Roman's would give the victim a sword and present them the cheater and the person they cheated with. They could kill 1 the other or both
In an infidelity case it's just at girlfriend and boyfriend (dating) stage with no shared assets nor a child then that's a whole easier to ditch than filing for divorce, waiting for the paperworks to finalize and be granted shared custody for the child.
Just a boyfriend or girlfriend and no child isn't worth fighting over nor elaborating schemes.
I stayed loyal to a woman for 10 years. Her friends used to knock on my door when we didn’t live together yet. They would try to seduce me. I never once gave in despite how attractive some were. After 10 years of loyalty, she lost a lot weight, got attention on IG, and cheated.
As you can tell, I’m 100% against cheating. It’s the second ultimate form of betrayal next to murdering me.
Absolutely not. If you can’t at the very least be loyal then I don’t want you. Cheating is disgusting
I made the mistake of taking them back in the past but I decided never to put myself through that ever again and next time I'd leave.
No I never have.
Of course I would if he is a high value man because almost all high value men cheat. Low value men don't cheat because women don't want them.
@Kelley1
You are so full of it. You base people by their value status?
Low value me (as you call them) do to cheat. There are always women that don't judge people by their value but because of the kind of person they are and if they have a good ❤️. Even the bad boy type cheat.
You need to grow up and stop judging everyone by their value. That's crazy.
And by the way we all know you didn't invent this value system you talk about. You are just a copy cat of other women on social media, brainwashed!
Low value men would cheat if they could but women don't want them. Average women can cheat with high value men but the only women average men can cheat with are 50 year old ugly fat women and other bottom of barrel women. Given the option of the bottom of the barrel or their average looking wives men pass on cheating.
No I would not "forgive them and take them back", cheating is done with malice and forethought, I have been on the receiving end twice, both relationships ended the same day I found out about the cheating.
The only possible way I could see myself saying yes to this is if I'm married with children. For the children's sake that is the only way I would consider it.
Otherwise no, it would be over.
No. That shows that they're comfortable with disrespecting the person. So, of course they'd do it again if forgiven.
Nope, zero chance of that. Luckily I have never had it happen nor have I done it to anyone.
no, absolutely not. That relationship would be dead and buried from the second I found out.
Depends on my feelings, but most likely not.
Nope. You learn that lesson the first time and then never do it again.
Possibly. It is not the end of the world.
Maybe once but then the relationship wouldn't be the same again , I'll be more distant.
But everyone deserves at least a single chance right
I would forgive because I don't want to stay angry at him, but I won't take him back.
Years ago it would have been a flat out no. Today I thing it might depend on the situation.
Cheaters are monsters, there is absolutely no way I'd give a cheater a second chance.
No of course i would not, im not a doormat, any woman that could do that does not deserve me.
100% no never.
everyone deserves a second chance. ONE second chance
I would forgive, but the romantic relationship would be over.
absolutely freaking not
Nope. I wouldn’t even consider it an option.
No are you stupid?
Forgive them yes, take them back no….
Never
