This is an either/or. Not a neither/both type of question. So, gun to your head, one has to happen. Which one do you pick?

I’d choose to get hit. Physical wounds heal much faster than emotional ones for me, I won’t be able to trust him again either way but I believe people can change from being physically abusive if it was just a matter of them losing control of their emotions - and if I want to, I can just report them to get them punished. I don’t believe cheaters can change and you can’t legally punish a cheater…

Yeah I mean it’s definitely choosing between the lesser of two evils but I know that if I get hit, then I can just hit him back and we’ll call it even. Cheating tho runs waaayy deeper…

What would you personally choose tho?

I'd take the hit. No questions about it. I experience that level of pain just from playing sports or doing martial arts. But getting cheated on is an ongoing, emotional hit.

True! Of course physical abuse also leads to a loss of trust but I feel like it’ll be easier to rebuild. I got slapped once and got over it pretty quickly plus he never did it again but when he cheated boy… it caused me a lot of trauma lol

Right? Same experience here. My very first girlfriend hit me and later cheated on me. The cheating burned me up for what felt like a decade. My second girlfriend hit me once and never cheated, and I never felt hatred and disgust towards her. My fourth girlfriend cheated, but never touched me, and I still hate that girl lol.

Oh no I’m so sorry you had to go through a that over and over again… and you’re right getting cheated on leaves a hole in your heart that takes forever to heal up. What sucks is that cheating seems to be more common (and even normalized) than domestic abuse so you’re 10x more likely to get cheated on again for sure rather than getting hit by a partner…

I would actually prefer getting cheated on so I can walk away without the need to file a police report nor defend myself physically if I have to. Physical abuse is illegal and it's a crime while cheating isn't.
