Can you love a person and still cheat on them?

Yes. Absolutely. Though I will say, that it is only possible to happen when the person they love is failing to enable some aspect of them that goes unrecognised or unrewarded (it will also mean they will be exceedingly guilty when they cheat and most likely they won't cheat to a degree which means they would destroy their loved relatioship, but maybe inperel it).

An example is, if a partner fails to recognise or encorage their partners sexuality with them, it can be an outcome that even someone who loves them is then tempted by someone else who is willing / able to express their sexuality with them and makes them feel free to expresss their own. The love will reduce the chances but, the amount it reduce it is decreased by the level of unfulfilment the cheated experinences with their loved partner.

Not saying that means people need to have sex with anyone before they are ready, just they need to make sure their partner feels acknowledged and able to express their own sexuality with them (and they find some way together to not let that go unchecked). If they feel able to with their loved one, then someone they don't love won't be very tempting, like not at all (vs when they love someone but wonder if they WANT them or feel possibly unattractive with them).

Me personally no, but yes its possible. People who aren't good at resisting temptation I don't think it will matter how much they love someone they can be seduced in to it.

I believe that was the case with my relationship.
When someone outside of the two of you goes after one of you and keeps tempting you, some people just can't resist the temptations of another person.
But does that mean he doesn't love the person he is living with and tells her all the time how much he loves her or did he fall out of love with her?

Can be both thats the tricky part, you know your guy and how things were going. Do you think he was tempted by someone very seductive or have things gotten distant between you two?

I know someone was tempting him. The flirted with each other right in front of me.
He was living with me and they would stand at the front door laughing together while I was in bed sick.
I know they were having an affair. I worded it that way because she is married. Didn't get in her way though. She was bound and determined to get him to break up with me.

Because if a guy wants to leave me, I don't leave scratch marks! I don't hold to him and beg him to stay or even cry.
If a guy wants to be with someone else he knows where the door is and he can be free to go anytime he wants to.
When you get to be my age you learn a lot about love, relationship's and life.
So it really doesn't matter much to me. I like my own company now and have for year's.
When I was younger, in my 20's and that happened, it was a whole different story.

I'd like to think not. But I guess there are moments of weakness. I can imagine if things have been rocky and then the chance for a kiss from a stranger might boost your self esteem? Not saying it's right. But I can see it could happen and not mean you don't love your partner. However, if you are thinking about, flirting and having an affair or thinking about cheating then no. You can't love your partner. Most likely you are with them for fear of change, fear of being alone, habit in comfort.

It's not fair and I don't condone cheating. Not as the one with a partner nor as a single knowingly going with someone not single.

I just know human nature is complex and rarely as black and white as we would wish.

No. I genuinely don't believe so. When you cheat on someone, it means you're willing to take the risk of them finding out and emotionally damaging or scarring them. If you love someone, you would never take that risk or chance losing them.

It also means that you likely think you might be able to convince them to stay with you if they do find out. There are tons of manipulative people like that.

Cheaters are the scumbags of the world and should be tossed in the trash and left behind.

Apparently, it's quite possible. My ex was cheating on me at least 2 years and, the whole time, she was hugging me, kissing me, telling me how very much she loves me, how great I am, she even slept with me completely naked!!

No... You can't love someone if you disrespect them and humiliate them. There's also the factor that you're risk passing some nasty STD on to them if you have sex with someone else, since condoms aren't 100% effective. You always take a risk when you have sex.
