Why does my girlfriend get angry at me when I bring up an app that I have used with my ex before?

We are in a long-distance relationship. I suggested during the night we can watch a movie together on Netflix. She didn't know how, so I suggested we use an app called Teleparty. It allowed us to watch together. She asked how do I know and I told her the truth, and now she is angry and declined my request. I am confused, it's just an application. If another application does the same function, I would gladly use it but it's too late now. I can't lie to her because she will eventually find out about it and it will sting more later. I dont even know why am I asking this question also...

My girlfriend and I started out long distance. She’s always been the jealous type and seemed overly invested in my past relationships. Sometimes she would do petty stuff like this, and I would just reassure her that she’s special to me and the past is the past.

Now we live together and her jealousy issues have gotten better.

Don't take it too seriously and don’t let it get to you. Stay confident and reassure her and don’t get upset. Don’t let her start huge arguments over stuff like this. Just point out that you’re an honest person and if she wants to dig for stuff that will upset her you won’t hide it.

@bobalife Thank you. Believe me I had to learn the hard way LOL I definitely used to get into arguments with my girl about this kind of thing. I took her jealousy personally and that was a big mistake. At the end of the day it comes from deep rooted feelings of inadequacy. Never being good enough for parents, family, friends, and being desperate to be someone's priority.

It’s good to be honest and relationship requires those challenging conversations to get closer & grow. I think it just doesn’t feel good nor special to do things that were things you’ve done in your old relationships. Give her some space to calm and talk to her about what’s causing her to feel that way in order to understand her and reassured her about making new memos and building connection together as a couple.

Since you're long distance I can guess she's currently experiencing bouts of insecurity, it has nothing to do with the app and everything to do with the fear that you're going to pursue someone else. Maybe try to communicate with her about it - over call - without judgement.
