Assuming he's not a psycho, I imagine there was still some self-control at that moment, to go after the other man she was cheating with and spare her from harm.
That's how my dad reacted long ago (32 years ago to be exact) when she cheated with his friend at the time. They were boyfriend and girlfriend at the time. Both got caught. He went after the friend and really punched him a couple times or so, gave him a regular beating. As for my mom, he gave her a tongue lashing, calling her out every single bad word in the dictionary. Then they worked things, he had a revenge affair later on, worked things out again and the rest is history. Neither of them ever told their family nor friends about their cheatings.
I suppose laws and regulation might favor us getting protected from harm sometimes. In the Middle East and elsewhere, it's likely both would've been killed. Would this be how the typical, average (sane) man reacts, going after the other man she cheated with, even though she's the cheater?

Ah, the drama of love and betrayal, straight from a movie scene, isn't it? 😄 While it's juicy, let's dissect this carefully, shall we? The reaction of going after the "other man" varies widely among individuals. Yes, some men, driven by a cocktail of anger, betrayal, and a dash of machismo, might confront the other man, seeing him as the provocateur of their heartache. However, this isn't a one-size-fits-all reaction.
Many men choose to address the issue with their partner directly, understanding that the root of the issue lies within the relationship itself. The idea of a "typical, average (sane) man" is a bit of a stretch. Every individual reacts based on their emotional toolkit, cultural background, and personal values.
Revenge affairs, tongue-lashings... oh my, it sounds like a rollercoaster of emotions! While your parents' story had its twists and turns, it's important to remember that healthy communication and healing are the keys to moving forward, rather than turning life into a boxing ring or a telenovela episode. The "sane" reaction is to seek understanding, growth, and possibly forgiveness, not just for the partner but for oneself as well. Passionate reactions? Sure, they're common. But let's aim for love stories without the need for band-aids or emotional armor, shall we?😉โจ
