There’s a lot of reasons why people in general lie. One could be cause he’s a compete liar, trying to cover something up. Two, it could be to spare your feelings. Girl ask if she looks fat in the dress. No honey you don’t you look gorgeous. Maybe he’s lying to her to keep a surprise a secret. There’s a lot of reasons.

People lie because they are afraid... it's that simple... they lie because they are afraid of you getting angry when they tell the truth without realising that when the lie has finally been exposed the anger will only be greater.

Yes, so am I... I've never told a lie, not even a white lie, during my last, 11 year, relationship.

I did lie 2x to her after she had cast me aside... but due to the circumstances, and how much she has lied throughout the relationship, I felt no longer obliged to be truthful to her. Everything has been used against me + extra, anything I would tell her would only give her more 'ammunition' to fire at me.

... all to lie to men. So there's that.

The use credit cards to get nicer clothes, watches, cell phones. It's just the way people are. We try to maximize our chances.
My comment wasn't to call out women for lying, it was to say that lying is just a thing humans do, and I kinda resented the OP suggesting that men are guilty of it, saying nothing about us.
