Do you share closet space with your SO?

According to a Closetmaid survey, the average American woman has 132 items in her closet while men have just 43. The unequal distribution of closet space can become an issue for couples when ⅔ of the average closet is occupied by women’s clothing leaving a measly ⅓ for the man’s.

What about you. If you share closet space with your SO, how much space does the man get versus how much space the woman gets?

I can't vote on my own question, but if I did, I'd vote "60-40 SHE gets more". We have a walk-in closet with racks and shelves on each side. Her side is totally filled with her clothes, plus part of my side.

I did, and I had less stuff than him because he never got rid of anything, LOL. Example of his side: over 30 baseball caps (no, he didn't play) and around 40 T-shirts (with logos). Why? Because they were free...

I have a zero growth policy that I implement for my stuff; one clothing item in, one clothing item out. That keeps it manageable. I only buy clothes that fit and are exactly what I want, so I wear most of the clothes in my wardrobe now, instead of only my favorites (because now it's only my favorites). I shop once a season and have a budget and a basic plan for the style I want. I buy less and I buy ethically, which makes me very careful about what I get so I don't spend $$$ on something I'll rarely/never wear.

I have a more complex wardrobe than my SO, he likes to keep things simple, I love dressing up. In my opinion it's very feminine and cute to explore different styles of dresses and things a like.

Men seem to be more simple in regards to what they choose to wear. That could be a reason why it's usually so unevenly distributed. 😅

Well... Can't do the poll, none of the option apply.

The ex and I had our own wardrobes... Good thing, because otherwise I would not have been able to fit my clothes in, and would I succeed anyway I will not be able to find my clothes back.

I can't even fill 1/2 a wardrobe... she needed 2-3 wardrobes.

(I was not allowed to take my wardrobe with me when she kicked me out because she needed more space... The wardrobe probably went to my successor, but that's a whole different story)

Well luckily I’m in a gay relationship so i dont gotta worry about a woman taking up most of the closet lol.
For hanger space, we split it right in the middle. One half is mine and the other half is his. But I’ll admit that I take up most of the shelf space.
We share a lot of our clothes and stuff anyways. I’m always stealing his shit and he’s always stealing mine

We have a walk in closet. When we first moved in i bought two closet kits one for each side. Each kit had shelf units, clothes racks and places to store shoes and boots. We each have a side.

I put we each get half for the simple reason I do have as much wardrobe space as her, just some of mine are in a different bedroom!

Answering for my parents... NO. Mom gets two closets in the hall and dad gets the walk in closet in their bedroom.
