If I was dating, then my priority is not so much the age or the gap in age but the intellectual compatibility and the character and personality of that person.

However, I would still prefer to have a person that is in my age group simply because it is easier to have things in common than with a person that is 2 generations older.

Given the fact that men ten to be much less mature than a girl of the same age in my age group, I would have to date a person that is between 1 and 2 years older only to be of the same intellectual age. That would be ideal in my eyes.
