What's the biggest age gap you're willing to have in a relationship?

Age does not matter... much. Obviously, you shouldn't be dating prepubescent children as an adult, but other than that, as long as you're past puberty and there's mutual attraction and consent on both sides, there's nothing wrong with dating whoever. I'm 32 currently, and I would honestly date an 18 year old in the very unlikely case that she's compatible with me. I would also date women older than me, even up to like 50+ years old, but the thing is... I do want a family and kids of my own, so I have to take that into account. I'd probably go as high as someone around my age and maybe up to 35 max for someone I'd date.

The most important thing for me is compatibility.

There is no limit. The women I've dated have all been within +/- 10 years of my age. That's just the way it happened, it wasn't a planned limit I had. My father was 30 years older than my mother, and they had a long happy 40-year marriage until he died.

Two years! Bc my guy is two years older than me. J/k, if I were single, I think the only limit that would prob bother me about age is, I wouldn’t want to date anybody younger than me or as old as my dad. He could be a year younger than my dad as long as he is not the same age. I don’t know why but I think that would bother me a lot. The biggest age difference I have actually experienced is a guy was 9 years older than me. I have been flirted with by much older guys but not dated them.

It's also about health. When both partners are young, this isn't a problem, but as they get older, fitness and health become an issue. The younger partner will probably have to look after and care for the older one—not everyone can or wants to do this, and both partners need to be aware that their current state of health will not always last.

When I was 23, I dated a woman who was 43. Now that I am 70, I would not date a woman 20 years older than me. If I was single and a girl 20 years younger was interested, I would be open to dating her, but I wouldn't try to initiate anything with someone younger than 60. My wife is 62.

Honestly not under 18 because I’m not a pedophile. And I wouldn’t push it too much past 40 since I want to have kids. But I would date a women in her younger 20s or in her 30s. Sure. If she was the right person.

time ago... I met someone great, who happened to be 10 years older than me, timing didn't work out back then, but we could have definitely tried if the timing was there

For dating, it wouldn't matter as long as she was over legal age and not more than a year or two older that me. But for marriage, it is unlikely that someone a lot younger would be compatible.

My largest age gap was six years when I was 36 and the most wonderful girlfriend I ever had was 30. All the rest were 1 to 3 years younger.

I'll be 72 in a few days and have been happily married now for over 29 years, though, so I will not be doing any more dating in my life.

I'm not fussed as long as she's an adult and has a semblance of emotional maturity. And takes care of herself in some basic physical way. As that already rules out about 90% of women, I'm not too fussed about having the perfect age :) I do however, prefer (quite a lot) younger.

For companionship, I don't really have one. A peer from high school is on his third marriage, and the two previous women who were his age treated him horribly. His current wife is almost 20 years older than he, and she has been so wonderful to the guy.

However, I do want children with a hypothetical wife, so that limits the acceptable range now that I'm 34. I'd say 10 *maybe* 12 years difference at maximum.

Probably about 4 years in either direction. I'm 24 so for me that'd mean 20 at the youngest and 28 at the oldest. Dating someone in their late teens (18 or 19) would feel wrong but then again dating someone in their early 30s would also feel wrong so basically as long as a person is in their 20s I'm fine with dating them.

I know of a neighbor of mine who married someone who was 17 years older than her and has a child with him. As long as both parties are consenting it’s fine with me. I wouldn’t go younger than 21 (I’m 37). I understand that younger woman like older men because they don’t play the games that young men play.
