I sometimes visit my mom who has a male lodger renting a room in the house. Sometimes he comes to chat with us ( I’ve never been alone with him and never will) and laugh when he says something I find funny.

My fiance had a word with me and told me to stop giving him attention, in the form of looking at him ‘alot’ when he speaks and laughing when I find something funny. I was suprised and asked my mom if I was ‘giving him too much attention’ and she said I wasn’t doing anything wrong.
