I had a couple long-terms relationships during my lifetime. With my two of them, we moved away (either enrolling in a different college or move elsewhere for a better job position), drifted apart, the chemistry wasn't there anymore and so we broke up under amicable terms. Our families liked each other and there was no real complaints. I took nearly a year or so to start dating again.
However, with my last relationship my parents hated him, it was rocky, heading nowhere at some point and he ended up cheating. My parents and a couple close friends were right about it. We broke up on bad terms and I seriously didn't miss him. I started going out on a couple dates at a quicker pace and I'm back to the vetting process again.
This is my personality:
If something was good and there was no real heartbreaks nor toxicity, I tend to take my time to move on. It can take a while to get used to no longer sharing those good times. It was so good that I don't feel like dating too soon.
However, if something either was so bad, we had ongoing arguments, my family or friends hated him, there was toxicity, he cheated or caused a heartbreak... omg I'm ready to be in the dating world faster than a speed of lightening. I can start tomorrow if possible. I don't miss something that's bad. I end up blocking him and move on faster.
And if it was a ''meh, whatever, not that great but not bad either'' then I'll probably take a couple months (not very long) to move on and start dating again. I know some people take longer to move on after a heartbreak or terrible relationship but for me it's the opposite effect. If it was bad, I want to move on faster than if it was good.
