Boyfriend is 4 years younger than me?

Question

My boyfriend is 28 turning 29 next month. I turned 33 last month. I'm 1991 and he's 1995.

People make fun of us saying I'm older than him and the age gap is too much.

One person also said why is he dating an aged lady and he should date girls in their twenties.

I don't look old at all but the moment they hear that he's 4 years younger than me, it's a source of mockery.

I was hesitant in dating him due to this but he insisted saying he doesn't care.

What do I do?

A lot of people get jealous and envious when they see someone with something they don’t/can’t have. You wonder why they’re miserable it’s obvious that nobody decent wants them. Because of how nasty they are.

4 years isn't that much of an age gap? People may judge, but so what? As long as you two are happy, what does it matter? I have dated people both 5 years older and 9 years younger than myself. If you make each other happy, it doesn't matter what other people think.

Nothing. You ignore it. Nothing has meaning unless you give it meaning. Does he make you happy? If so that’s all that should matter. It’s your life. It’s his life. He’s a grown man who can make his own decisions. Don’t make it for him by breaking up w him if that’s what you’re thinking. That’s not fair to him. My girl is 8 years older than me. We’ve been together for 15 years. Sure we heard a few things but eventually it stopped. Not that it ever mattered to us. Do what you want and he wants. It is unusual. 10% of marriages are with the man 10+ years older but only 10% of marriages are with the woman older by any amount but that is to one year resolution i. e 3 months older is 0 years difference.

That is seriously ignorant. I was 20 and my ex-wife was 17 when we got engaged. We were together 25 years. The only time it is an issue is when you are young (in your teens). 4 years is nothing.
