My boyfriend hasn't had a job for 6 months and my job is about to fire me due to being hurt. I asked him if he'd found a job because I'm worried we will lose our place. He said he was going to call his friend about a job that takes him out of town for weeks at a time but he was also waiting on the staffing agencies to call him back. I asked him do you like traveling? He said he loved it but he was worried if I wouldn't like it. I said I would miss him but he deserves a job that will make him happy and to not let me hold him back. He said I hold him back but it's a good thing because if he didn't have me he would be irresponsible while away and then he said he misses being care free and doing what he wants while away on those work trips but he loves me. What do I need to do about this or what should I say?

Your boyfriend is in the same boat I am in , I was laid off from my job this past January and been applying to jobs like crazy, the job market is absolutely horrible these days , I have never experienced anything like this before in my lifetime , this country has gone to hell in a hand basket and I been praying every day I land something. Traveling jobs are hard to do when you have a partner , when I was traveling for my last job , I hated being away from my partner , living in a hotel and pretty much bored as shit , so if he truly loves you , he won’t cheat on you or do anything stupid , but sadly he could be tempted , if he is away from you for too long , shit even you could be tempted with him being away for to long , so traveling jobs Suck , when you are in a relationship with someone , because you are both apart for long periods of time giving you both time to do whatever you want basically . I was dating a girl for 6 months that lied to me about being married , She was able to play me for a long time because her husband was always away on business trips. I been to her house , I had sex with her in every room of the house , not knowing she was married , until the day her husband knocked on my front door. So it just goes to show traveling jobs suck when you are in a relationship with someone. traveling jobs are good for single people

Second of all if he does get a job and he is out of town for 2 weeks he told you it's a carefree lifestyle and he's afraid that he would lose you that means he's afraid that he would get caught in his carefree lifestyle.

But you have to ask yourself is you're at this age right now and you're going through something that most people are vice versa on to complete opposite they're trying to make as much money as possible to buy a home pay for their toys their cars to get financially ahead if you did get a job with his friend how long would it last do you think is this the position that you've seen yourself when you were just a kid before you got into a relationship.

I think down deep in your subconscience you've already talked yourself about this and you already have a direction planned you were just looking for somebody to make it a little bit clearer to you I think you have to think about yourself at this moment because he's not thinking about you that's for sure otherwise he would be taken care of you

By your description, He actually sounds all over the place and I would have no confidence in what he actually wants and why. He just doesn’t seem to have himself together. Seems like he would be happy to sit back and let you do all the heavy lifting !
Personally I would never have time for that , I come first always and only once I have myself in a good place so I think about letting anyone else in my life relationship wise.

Time apart can be good and even make the relationship stronger one. I'm a firm believer that Real love can only exist when it's free to go but chooses to come back. This is why I don't believe in marriage because marriage puts conditions and consequences for people to stay together or split apart.
