Why do people stay in one sided relationships?

I do understand in cases where someone seems amazing at the start but it takes them to see their true colors. I understand they’re attached to this person and feel like they can get what they had back even if they can’t.

But it’s early on in the relationship. Look, I’m sorry why be in a one sided relationship when there’s people with more to offer?

If you’re always the one making contact, planning dates, paying for everything, getting the other presents, writing letters, and just doing all the things and the other person isn’t, or if she/he is it’s not nearly as much as you are. Why stay with that person? This person ain’t investing the same time, energy, etc into you as you are into them. Even if you want traditional roles both people should be working equally in those roles.

If someone is like this at the start how the hell do you think they are gonna be long term?

We seek the love we think we deserve. People in unrequited love are not in love with the other person. These people are in love with the empty space, the void that is there, due to the emotional absence of that other person, and it is part of their obsession over that person.

If that other person became physically and emotionally available in the one-sided relationship. These people in a sided relationship will lose their feelings and obsession with that person within a few days.
