How would you feel if your sibling started dating your partner's sibling?

My wife is an only child but she has a cousing who's something of a younger sister to her. We took notice that recently her cousin and my half-brother started spending a lot of time together and they do arrive and leave together (although this might be on account of my brother having a driving license and the girl is still getting hers).

My wife thinks it'd be cute if they dated and it might tie out families closer and she would like to "nudg" them, I just say to wait and see if they make anything official and don't pressure the kids.

Update, they made it official, they are girlfriend and boyfriend. My wife is overjoyed and already dreaming about them getting married and being just like us. I am happy for them, but I'm still of the thought of letting them do their thing and not pressure them.

I am so different from my siblings that I can't imagine this ever happening. But it did happen in my mom's family. Two of her sisters dated two brothers and each couple got married and remained married until the husband's died in their later years. The children of such families are called double cousins.

That's interesting, I admit I never heard of double cousins. According to Wikipedia they have 25% of genetic overlap, akin to half-siblings.

It will never happen in my life though. My brother is already getting married and his fiancee has no sisters 😂 Not that if she did, they would be my first choice anyways. It's a pretty unlikely scenario.

Don't nudge! Let nature take its course! I've known two couples where siblings had married other siblings. Theyre all still married today! I won't swear to it but I think on certain occasions the sibling link cause difficulties. In fact I'd be surprised if it didn't.
