Because marriage is fucked up. Love is still love... the same as it was long before we invented marriage.

Marriage in general is a very perilous venture for a man to undertake. Here in the United States, just moving in together could have the same pitfalls depending on the state. 'Common-Law marriage' is what that's called if you want to look it up. ... I mean imagine moving in with a chick, you never had sex with or had any sexual interest with and then she gets the courts to take half your shit a couple of years later. Shit that you've worked for 20 years for... one of your cars, and takes your dog too... half of your bank account. Now you have to sell your house because you won't give it to her, and split the money with her. Do you think that's bad?

It only gets worse if you really get married, with the sex, and the possible kids that will be taken away. Disclaimer: I'm only giving possible situations here and other situations may be different (This is for some solipsistic dumbass that might read this and claim I'm wrong just because that didn't happen with them)

With that said, it could be bad for him... I'm not fucking joking. Not only does it strip him of an easy out as she ages and starts growing a mustache, gets fat and ugly, cheats, and generally starts taking him for granted and treats him like shit, but it's equivalent to asking him if he wants to jump out of a plain with a 3/4th's chance that his parachute will not work...

I can already hear some retard in the back trying to haggle me with "Not that many marriages end in divorce rape!," so allow me to address that. For some men, it's easier to let her hen peck you all the time, put up with her shit, and be completely miserable for the rest of your worthless life as you live and work to give her shit she wants and maybe you'll get a mancave or someplace to retreat to for some sort of brief reprieve from basically becoming a domesticated animal in her cage just like the cats or small dogs she probably took in.

Facts are still facts though... most marriages are fucked up. You might not see it from the outside, but if you hang out long enough... you're gonna fuck around and find out.

Why wouldn’t a man marry a woman despite claiming to love her?Why wouldn’t a man marry a woman despite claiming to love her?

I believe I have stated my case and will conclude my dialog at this point. Have a great day ☺

At least get your facts straight... If you owned your house before the marriage, it is considered separate property... yours, not hers... and would not be included in any community property settlement. Also, if there is real concern, do a prenup.

@Caroline91 "Appreciation and equity gained during the marriage might be considered community property, and the house can indeed be included in a settlement under certain circumstances."

So as you know, the value of homes has risen for a while now... Your argument is invalid. Which is basically what the wife's lawyer that you have to pay for because you made the money, would say and divorce rape you right in the mouth and force you to sell your house and give her some cold hard cash.

Look, I know you've been told certain things to believe things are fair... but you're a man now and the system doesn't care about you and will butt fuck you with no lubrication. But look on the bright side... she may think she got all that money, but the lawyer has a fee... did I mention taxes? Butt rape status for her can quickly turn out to be retarded rape victim with bleeding butt status.

I'm sure you have your reasons and no doubt many of them valid. My husband and I are fortunate in each other so, ofc, I have a different take on things and so does he. I wish you the best.

@Caroline91 I'm glad you and your husband are both fortunate in finding each other and are not part of the cruel system that has been set in place for certain kinds of people that don't think like us. My wife and I have changed the game and are also a couple that probably won't split, but we both, both of us must keep in mind that we are exceptions to the rule and we don't make the rule... the majority does... and the family courts as well as the Government. The majority are not like my relationship and yours.

Things have gotten worse over the years for people out there. Marriage, for these reasons, are becoming less of a thing. You can fact check me on this, but I think it's declining and it's basically for the reasons I've stated.

Because sadly a lot of guys’ do not want to get married these days because of all the nonsense they hear about marriage so they are pretty much against it , until they know for sure a girl is in it for the long haul over the short haul. So you don’t have to be married to someone to show your love for someone. I honestly was nervous to marry my wife even though we were living together 5 years before I put a ring on her finger , we made 2 kids together before we got married as well. If I can go back in time , I would of stopped myself from marrying her selfish ass because she sadly changed on me when she decided to start being selfish and no longer caring about or relationship and marriage , so for me to even consider marriage again , is going to take a long ass time for me to even go down that road ever again. The next girl has a lot of walls to climb for me to even consider marriage again. And honestly I don’t want to do that to a girl whatsoever , I plan on eventually meeting someone else but not rushing into anything , especially with the way this world is today with selfish people

As someone else said here, it is about building a life and family. My husband wanted that with me. I wanted that with him. We got married. It is a commitment to building that life together. Traditional marriage is also a huge risk for the wife bc she gives up a career path to make a home for her husband raise his children. I provide a refuge from the world for him and for our children and he provides financial security for me to be able to do that. We both do what we do for love of the other. We both show respect and appreciation to the other for their contribution to the good of our family. It works for us. It is love.

Because marriage is not only a commitment to the person but to the traditional lifestyle they’re told it represents, AKA the nuclear family dynamic: Hubby is the sole provider, working hours on hours to make money for his stay-at-home wife and their 2 and a half kids. It’s exhausting, and they won’t make that commitment if they don’t believe the woman can care for them as much as she mothers their spawn. So basically, she’s gotta raise 3 kids and a husband too and they won’t commit unless that’s involved and honestly? Most women can do better anyway than someone who leads them on for 7+ years with no ring in sight.

  • Oh, the mysteries of love! 💘 Sometimes, even when a man is head over heels, there might be a few reasons he's holding back on putting a ring on it. Could be fear of commitment, financial woes, or maybe he's just not ready to take the leap into forever land. Other times, it might boil down to personal beliefs about marriage or unresolved issues in the relationship. Love is a complex dance, and sometimes, it takes a little longer for both partners to hear the same tune. Remember, communication is key; a heart-to-heart might just unlock the mystery. 😏💍

Because marriage is a loser’s bet for men. Even if she actually loves him in return, it won’t likely last. If she has so little as a single moment of regret, the government becomes her daddy and completely destroys him for her benefit. The reverse simply hasn’t been true for generations.
Vote for politicians to eliminate no fault divorce and/or split literally everything 50/50 or abide by prenups like ironclad legal agreements and men MIGHT have cause to reconsider. Until then, only idiots and masochists are still marrying, where men are concerned.

Marriage takes a lot more than just love. In order for a marriage to be successful, it takes hard work, commitment, loyalty, trust, love, and communication on top of the other stuff that makes adulting hard.

Sometimes two people who love each other are at two different points in their lives. One could be ready to settle down and maybe start a family while the other might not be ready to. That doesn’t mean that the person who isn’t ready for marriage loves the person who is less, it just simply means they’re not ready for that phase in life and it’s possible they might not ever be ready.

    Here's a list of possibilities:

    Concerns of her mental health
Inability to see benefits from marriage
    Concerns about divorce laws
Concerns about either person's ability to be faithful
    Not loving her ENOUGH
Not seeing her provide value to a relationship
    Some other red flag

Because there's no reason to, you can stay toghether with someone without needing to marry them.

Love can go away, a marriage doesn't protect from that and makes the break up or in this case divorce even harder and complicated than if you dont marry.

You can truly love someone but not want to marry them. They can be attractive with the right personality and funny but also be lazy with poor housekeeping skills because they were never taught or were pampered growing up.
