My boyfriend (34M) confessed to me that he no longer desires me (29F) the way he used to. Is my relationship over or is this reversible?

My boyfriend (34M) and I (29F) have always had the best intimacy within our relationship. We have been dating for over 1.5 years now and our sex life was always amazing and consistent throughout our entire relationship... until recently. We both have high sex drives and would usually have sex an average of 2-3 times a day, 1 time a day at the very least. We have had some tough times in recent weeks that has caused me to have a habit of saying hurtful things during arguments. My boyfriend communicated that he really dislikes it and asked me to stop but it has been difficult since it became a habit. Over time, I realized our intimacy and sex has gone down. Now, we only have sex maybe once a day and usually right before bed "just to get the job done"... I confronted my boyfriend about this observation today and he confessed that his recent unhappiness has caused him to lose desire for me and he no longer feels the same passionate desire towards me. This makes sense to me but I'm also devastated. Is this common in relationships and is this reversible at all? My boyfriend told me in the past that once the desire for intimacy is gone, the relationship is usually doomed.
