Hard to say because it can be a bit hard to define. But I'd say about 4 times. Funny I just thought that I've dated two ladies in the past who are social workers. BOTH, when I dated them, asked me if I had ever been in love. It is actually sort of a question that they ask people.

Hmmm... I guess it depends on how you define "fall in love." Do you mean like actually fully love them as a person and actually interacting with them a lot, or just a simple crush/infatuation/obsession that wasn't based on much beyond the person's physical appearance and that I almost never (IF ever) talked to?

If it's the first one, then only my current and first and only girlfriend so far, really!

If it's the second... hmmm... a few different times I guess, but I wouldn't say a lot. Mostly just based on physical attraction like I said.

Though there was this one girl back in high school who I was super obsessed with for an entire year for some reason. I thought about her all day and all night. But it was basically just physical attraction. As for her personality, I made up a personality for her in my head based on nothing, since me and her basically never spoke and all I had to go off of was conversations I overheard between her and her friends. Basically, I was attracted to the IDEA of her. Not her herself as a person.

Looking back it was super weird and creepy and certainly not healthy. High school is general was a pretty dark time for me. Looking back at that girl while there wasn't anything wrong with her, she wasn't nearly as great as I made her out to be. She was just a normal ass girl. A little bit pretty, but not a person that would stand out from a crowd either way.

But yeah. My current girlfriend is the only one I count. All the other ones, including that girl from high school, are irrelevant in my opinion.

Truth be told I’ve only been truly in love once in my life.

The acid test is if you really want what’s best for the person even if that means they would be happier with someone else. Love isn’t about “possession”

As for the other women I have been “in love” in the past I know realize it was more about fantasy which really about me and not them.

I also don’t define love just as “a feeling”. For me it’s something deeper. It’s a pledge of loyalty.

And I also noticed a gender difference on this. There is a reason why men are more reticent to say “they are in love” with someone. If things don’t work out they have much further to fall.

Too many. I believe you get a certain ration of love in your life, at least that kind of romantic love. And once you use it up it's gone forever. At a certain point, you've lost the ability to love like that again. My biggest regret in life is that I wish I had spent my ration more carefully. I was careless and had too many relationships. Had I only known then what I know now. It's too bad that youth is wasted on the young.
