I do! I love it a lot and makes me feel more motivated to cook when it’s for someone I love
2.7K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Yes. We are now down to 6 dogs, 5 with me while my wife is travelling with the other one.
I like to make stuff for my dogs that goes beyond their basic kibble. They're kibble is good stuff - Orijen and Science Diet - we don't mess around and my dog food bill is about $300/month - but it is boring as hell. So, I like to give my dogs some variety - variety in texture and flavor and scent.
So, for example, if might make a few loaves of meatloaf, but not use onions or garlic. We just used up all the meatloaf last night (I eat it too), so I began my chicken cooking.
Over the weekend, I bought family size packages of chicken breast, chicken thighs (bone in, skin on), and chicken legs (skin on).
Last night, I cooked the legs and thighs in the microwave over the course of a couple of hours. I then put them in the fridge to cool overnight. When I cook them in the microwave, I added some water because that helps keep the chicken moist and helps with cooking due to the steam it makes. When done, there's a nice harmless chick broth made from that water and whatever juices come out of the meat. I then save that hot broth and put it in a large container then in the fridge. The fat will rise to the top and then solidify overnight.
Now, for the chicken breasts, I cooked those today. But first, last night, I diced them up and also cut up a bunch of celery. I also had on hand a bag of baby carrots. The cut celery and the baby carrots then line the bottom of a crock pot (not the who unit; just the ceramic bowl). I place the diced chicken breast on top and then put the crock pot in the fridge overnight.
So, this morning, I skimmed the fat off the top of the broth in the container. The fat and the broth both congealed (the broth is actually a gelatin). Throw out the skimmed-off fat, then microwave the broth so it becomes a warm liquid again. Then I mixed in some chicken bullion and poultry seasoning to the warm chicken broth.
I then took the crock pot out of the fridge and poured the broth mix over the chicken and vegetables. 4 hours on high. The chicken is cooked and the carrots and celery are soft enough for the older dogs, but firm enough to not be mush and have some firmness.
It's really just a bland chicken soup because there is little salt and fat and NO ALLIUM vegetables (onions, garlic, chives, shallots, etc), but it is still good and nutritious. I will add No Salt Mixed Vegetables too; I go through quite a few cans each week and often just spoon some onto their kibble.
Today, I fed my dogs with their kibble some mixed veggies, a carrot that I had cut up into coins, and some of the chicken leg and thigh meat from last night.
I have to let the bland chicken soup cool off and package it (about 4 or 5 quarts), but they will start having that added to the kibble tomorrow along with some mixed vegetables and/or some Low Salt V-8 vegetable juice which, thankfully, they all like.
For my wife, I make her something special of a roast chicken. We have a special name for it, so I can't use it here in case she ever searches on that phrase. But, it goes back to when we first met and she came to live with me the day after Thanksgiving.

I also been brewing beer with my best friend and my brother and we are in process of opening a brewery. Just a lot involved to get us going , but we aren’t giving up and having so much fun doing it. So far we have 8 different beers on tap and we keep brewing more and more trying to market ourselves. So far we are getting a lot of good compliments and feedback from people that have tried our beers that are supporting us on our journey

Anonymous(30-35)1 yI'm a pretty decent cook and the women I've dated have been very appreciative. I hope to meet a woman who can cook well but one of these days, but haven't yet. I'm surprised to see all the female responses here saying they like cooking. My experience has been very few women these days know how to cook.

1 yVery much so. It's an ancient visceral feeling to share food and the labor of preparation. Y'all who don't like to cook I just don't get it. The ACT of cooking has proven health benefits for the chef; if your cooking healthy than everyone benefits!

1 yI used to cook for my ex. And that's in spite of the stupid gender standard, that women are supposed to cook for men. I cooked for her every chance I got. I loved seeing her enjoy my food

1 yAbsolutely, if I am cooking for a girl it is not a first, second date or third date, it means we have gotten serious. And of course always nice to do it for family or close friends.
