Would you ever have a relationship with a person who is more than 10 years apart in age from you?

Personally I would never date a person that is more than 5/7 years older than me. I wouldn't do this for 2 reason:

I am non attracted to older people, expecially if they are in their late 40s or 50s, because that would feel like dating my father, given the fact that they are close in age to him rather than me.
I think that being in different moments of lives, take people in having different plans and ideas of how their future should be, I am young, I am finishing my studies and my priority is to find a job, to travel, find financial stability, while a man who is in his 40s may be interested in creating a family, he already has a job and financial stability, so he is living in a completely different way that I am living and I think this is a reason while I could not be compatible with a older man.

So, this type of relationship wouldn't work in my personal opinion. This doesn't mean that people can't make it work, it just only mean that I would not be able to make it work.

I voted No, but I want to be clear. When I was your age, I definitely would have considered it. In the latter half of the 1990s. I was in my mid-30s. In late 1995, I was 32 almost 33 and I dated a woman who was 9y 1m older than me. That was an LDR that wasn't going to work out, so she dumped me thankfully. However, in early 1996, I was 33 and became very attracted to a woman coworker who was 15y 6m older than me, but she smartly friendzoned me. We remained friends for 3.5 years. Sadly, both women are dead now from cancer. The first one at age 53 in February 2007 and the second one at age 63 in September 2010.

However, I did meet my wife in November 1999. She was about 42y 4m old and I was about 36y 10m old, so she's 5.5 years older than me. We've been married for 23 years.

Besides the fact that I am married, I would not marry someone older by 10 years because there's not much time left for us. Furthermore, simply, I would just not remarry period. There'd have to be a compelling case for me to remarry and that includes that she is wealthy and we can both be retired. I don't want to have to work to support anyone else.

Yes , age doesn’t really matter to me , as long as she is of legal age of consent, is all that matters to me , I have dated younger and older girls’ through the years because her and I had amazing chemistry and connection and attraction for each other , I have dated younger girls’ that were more mature than girls’ my age or older , so someone’s age doesn’t truly define who that person is. People that hold age as a deciding factor , are just limiting themselves from someone that might actually be amazing to them. I know a handful of couples that have big age gaps and they are happy as can be together , that’s all that matters

One of the best, most serene, coziest and mature relationships I had was with a woman who was 15 years older than me.

She had a very calming, relaxing influence on me and although she made it clear our relationship would be a short one due to our age difference, she really lifted up my spirit in a moment where I was in the dump and boosted my confidence.

I don't discard the probability , there is a statistical problem though: I don't meet people in their 50's, it's a fact, there are none in my surroundings, either in person or over internet.  This age range and I, we just don't meet . Now, those are just statistics, it just needs one person to appear and if I see  her having what I want and vice versa  then there is a relationship to contemplate. That is, when I'm not taken already.

I'm 45 so at my age, going up isn't so good anymore. Going down some, is ok. But when I was 27, I found myself in a short term relationship with a 19 year old. Mostly because no one else would have me, and odd things happened that caused it come about. Like I said, it didn't last.

I think it depends on their personality. Personally, the younger they are, the younger they seem (exponentially speaking). The most I’ve been able to go is about three years younger, I was 27 at the time. Most women I’ve really liked have been a little older than me. (2-5 years)
