We were just having dinner and watching TV, when out of nowhere I asked if she ever considered divorce because I was considering it, and she said yes.

I asked if it was time to get the ball rolling, she started crying and said yes. We were divorced five months later.

It doesn't suck that bad because we remained good friends and we are both in fullfilling relationships now, we simply weren't compatible as partners.

My last boyfriend was a good example of this. We were together for a year, but the last few months of our relationship he said he needed to get his mental health right and said he checked in to a mental facility.

A few days before the end of our relationship I got a message from his female friend who happened to bring up they were dating now and it floored me. She said she had no idea that he and I were dating and I'm guessing that's because he never told her about me and him dating because I don't think she would have been with him otherwise.

I ended up just disavowing the whole thing and when he eventually showed up again, he never made a mention of it. He didn't have a conversation saying he didn't want to date anymore. Just nothing at all from him.

It took me a while to get over it, but I finally removed him from my socials and stopped communicating with him.

Before we became official, he was the most respectful and funny man. We got along very well. He asked me to be his girlfriend after a few weeks in a super sweet sappy way (which I loved) and the next day we made plans for me to meet his dad.

I made it very clear on our second date that I wasn't looking for anything physical until after married. He broke that boundary the second we got together. I knew right then that it wouldn't last, I lost all feelings for him. I gave him two more weeks, to see if anything would change. It didn't, so we were over.

I never thought of divorce as an option. Keep life interesting, I guess. Sometimes we got our moments and are upset- but as time goes on it becomes harder and harder for me to imagine life without her and the idea of divorce becomes less and less a possibility.
