I was for a whole year. Not a big deal. My ex was a year older than me and went off to college while I still had a year of high school left. It was a mutual decision.

There was no point in getting into another relationship my senior year with the odds being that whoever it might be with would not be attending the same school as me. So I just waited until I got to school.
