I dated my ex for two years. That was my first ever relationship. When we met each other, I had started my postgraduation while he had started working after he graduated. It was long distance and I was planning to go to his city for my doctorate program the coming year. It was a mutual decision. I completed my postgraduation this year as the highest scorer of my university, I've also passed a competitive exam that'd allow me to teach at any university in my state. However, few days ago we had a conversation about what I wanted from my career and our relationship. Note that he always knew that I wanted to be a researcher and work later. So, as I again mentioned it, he said that he wanted a wife who would stay at home. However he'd be okay if I taught at some local kindergarten school, started a cooking channel on YouTube or became a makeup artist. I said that I couldn't give up on all my dreams or be that dependent on anyone. So, we decided to break up.
However before breaking up he told me that he couldn't believe that for me my career mattered more than all the bliss I could have in my life and that no man would ever want such a career-oriented woman. He further said that I'd regret this decision in my 40s when I'll have lots of money but nobody beside me. I was told the similar thing by another guy before him.
Although I know whatever he said was a reflection of his rage but this idea is haunting me that nobody would like me ever again. I was never approached by much men to begin with and probably this was the only person that ever wanted to be in a relationship with me.
