How important is it for you to have a romantic relationship?

Before I got into the relationship I’m in now romance was no where near a priority for me. I met my fiancé by chance on a night out and didn’t give him the time of day because I did not care to have a man or go through the effort it takes to start down that road with someone. It wasn’t until I ran into him again, a month later at someplace random in another city that I was like alright, this is some sort of fate lol. Now romance is important because I have someone I want to make sure knows he is loved, and he does the same for me.

I would like to have my person, but I'm starting to get used to being alone again although I can't lie to say that the loneliness gets to me sometimes and I would rather have someone than be alone.

I would say it’s a little more important with every passing year.
But to this day it’s still not my number one priority.


I have taken a chance on dating in the past and it hasn’t worked out so far.


It’s hard to admit but that does make me doubt if there’s something seriously wrong with me:

Depends on the girl. I've met some real basket cases over the years that couldn't even handle gasing up their own car. Rather be single if I have to deal with that. Then we have all the women who put in absolutely no effort whatsoever. It's nice if I can find a woman who's somewhat independent

I'm married, but if that ever ends (either because I outlive her or because we divorce), I'm done. The tradeoffs in terms of autonomy just don't make sense. I'd tell younger me to skip romance altogether.
