Since I feel like most people have a sense of humor, I'm going to go with intelligent and emotionally supportive, hands down. That's rare combination.
And when I say intelligent, I don't mean intellectual club card carriers. Intellectual types tend to be arrogant, annoying and have a need to put others down to continually reinforce how smart they are. They have a real need for snob clubs. That irritates me. I just mean someone who can talk about deeper topics, is a curious person, and who is willing to challenge themselves.
Besides, truly intelligent people don't care about being perceived as intelligent. They care about growth and learning and communicating. They have nothing to prove, they are just fascinated by life.
Emotionally supportive is a critical trait because in a relationship, there are multiple relationships to navigate apart from the significant other. In-laws, children, extended family, sometimes an ex... It's essential to have the skill to process emotions well, and handle the emotions of others in high-stress situations.
I want to stress, though, that by emotionally supportive, I don't mean a co-dependent type who enables emotional abuse and mental illness. I mean someone skilled in authentic connection and thoughtful communication. Just clarifying... :)
Humorous and intelligent but you have to be intelligent to be humorous.

Shit... that's a hard one.
I'm definitely picking emotionally supportive. However, choosing between romantic and humorous? Damn. That's an impossible choice.
If it's just 2 traits - Intelligent and Emotionally supportive.
That's tough. I need three. But with intelligent and humorous she has to be romantic. I guess.
