Starting from scratch?

It’s not easy to tell this, but here goes nothing. I cheated on my partner, we have a kid, obviously we broke up. We’re in good terms after a tumultuous period. I’ll spare the details of a story that might be a best seller. Anyway, is there a way that a man that did my mistake could find another partner in the future? In the end, I wouldn’t blame anyone to not trust me after what I did.

You mean will your next partner judge the fact that you cheated on your ex? Possibly, I can’t say hearing that sort of news couldn’t ruin some potential. But there’s always the chance that the next woman you date won’t care, or hold you to those past actions.


In the meantime I would do the work to understand myself and how I could prevent cheating from happening in the future. Just remember that no matter what’s going on, if it’s enough to make you want someone else then free your current partner from the the relationship and be single so you can explore and do whatever it was your ex wasn’t doing.

I think that if I girl will keep judging my cheating it doesn’t even make sense to be in a relationship, as it feels like this kind of argument will flare up every now and then. Regarding the second part, I’m followed by a psychologist which is helping me a lot in understanding why I cheated, accepting the guilt and so on…

I think the best way to gauge that is to mention your past indiscretion in conversation early on. You’re right, you don’t want to be repeatedly judged for what you did, that’s why you should clear the air early on, so she can decide if she wants to get more serious with you or not. There shouldn’t be need for an argument, because that situation isn’t hers to be upset about.

It’s great that you’re doing the work and seeing a psychiatrist! So many people skip that skep and think they’re healing when they’re actually not.

cheating isn't really that uncommon , so people do date again after going through that , it really depends if women find you interesting enough to want to date , if they would consider you an option

It may be common but given the dynamics of the cheating I’m afraid that no one will be interested in me or anyway no one will ever trust me

but lots of people have cheated , if everyone who cheated was undatable like half the single population would never date again. i don't think that is the case

if a girl is interested in you , she'll still be willing to give you a chance and not like you need to go into detail to her about this
