I did this when my former SO was in the Navy. We were in Beaumont, TX and Gautier, MS. One way was 350 miles; so round trip was 700 miles!!!

I'd leave on Friday and return on Sunday. After six or so months of doing this once or twice a month, I told him we were headed for divorce. I couldn't do it anymore. I was 29 years old and exhausted. And this was my husband who I liked a lot!

Here's a reasonable limit: 25 miles. And personally, if it's farther than 10 miles, THAT's too far. Find someone who's nearby who you can see in a few minutes regularly. There is no way to keep any relationship alive if you're driving hundreds of miles to see someone. It's simply too difficult.

I moved to the other side of the world and was there for almost a decade. Didn't work out and won't ever do it again, once was enough lol. Long distances don't work unless someone moves closer sooner rather than way late. I would maybe try again, but it'll never be me moving to them again.
