Should I text an online friend I ghosted a month-ish ago on new year's eve?

To start off, I've ghosted this online friend after him replying to my last text after 4 days without an explanation and he was online too, to add when he replied his text was so dry and he asked about how's my weekend going but I didn't reply to him and he didn't text again since that. He used to text when i don't text back.. Anyway, am thinking of texting him on new tear's eve to wish him a happy new year but am not sure if I do it or just move on, cause tbh our friendship had many ups and downs prior to our "no contact". Should I get the balls to text him on that night?
ps : I don't want anything from him but just wish him a happy new year, cause he had some issues and I had too

Psss forget it he’s probably moved on. Just stop being a coward and give him closure. I know for me personally if someone won’t talk to me I’m done talking to them. I understand if someone’s busy but people who ghost others are cowards and they aren’t worth my time.

Sort of yes you should just tell him happy news years. Tell him how you feel about his long not replying and that you understand if he’s busy but four days is too long.

Honestly I can understand that if conversations are getting dry then it’s okay to take some sort of a break. Ignoring someone is wrong but if the conversation ended and he just didn’t text back after that. Then neither did you

We had a problem that time and our friendship was almost ending but he said that he want to still in contact with me but he wasn't making any effort in the convo, and he started to act so distant and dry, replying after 1 day i said its okay he may be busy, then he asked how i am i said am okay and i asked how is he going. He didn't reply for 4 days then he said "yea ig alright, how's your weekend going so i didn't reply. I got hurt and am still hurt i guess

No I can understand. As for me if someone won’t talk to me fuck it. I can understand things getting dry sometimes people run out of thinfd to talk about. But ignoring someone is rude.

If someone says “I’m gonna be bust with family for a few days” that’s fine. But you’re right with more context I better understand

If someone is truly interested in you, they contact you regularly and in a timely manner.

It sounds like whatever issues you have between you, they don't jibe and you should not re-contact this person for the on-again, off-again online relationship.

What about your RL people? Why not invest more in THEM than in this ghosted person. You were fed up with him. Keep that in mind, and think about those nearby who might be better candidates. Good luck.

Id say let it go it's only an online friendship.. If you guys are gonna be petty and hold grudges over who messaged who and if it was dry or not, then you are better off leaving each other alone.
