Is it ok to keep a valuable (of 4.4 grands) once meant for a past ex girlfriend?

My current girlfriend and I have been dating for 18 months and I've kept a valuable that was once meant for a past ex girlfriend long ago.

Flashback to 2018:

I got rejected twice back then, the biggest rejection a woman can give. I made mistakes back then (mainly unreliable and breaking promises, being slow at things) and tried to get my ex girlfriend back. I tried again 4 months later and she declined again. There went 4.4 grands I'm not getting back, at least not the original value. I hated what pawn shops and sellers were offering, so much less. It's a heart-shaped blue sapphire and diamond ring; what she always wanted. No way I'm going to give it away for much less. So I've kept it all this time. It's untouched (intact) since she never worn it.

Present-day:

My current girlfriend doesn't know I have it hidden. I guess I might as well put it to use again if the time comes. I'll be saving money. I don't feel like going through the whole process of buying another ring.
