How can anyone ages 30-40 or older still not know the difference between infatutation and love?

They've supposedly already undergone through all the process of having HS crushes, undergone break-ups, confusing ''the moon and the stars'' for love and are much older, much wiser. They aren't in the 16 to early 20's age range anymore.

Yet there are many older people that are still confusing the initial dating stage of a relationship and thinking fantasizing about them a lot is love; still falling for ''the moon and the stars'' words, things a teen would fall for. How can anyone that age still confuse infatuation and lust for love?

Then nowhere do they ever mentioned what the person's values, hobbies or goals are. They still think that just because they're told ''I love you'', it's love. That's something a teen or a 20 year-old would fall for.

Because everyone is different , we all experience different things , especially in relationships. If someone experienced a lot of failed relationships, they are more then likely going to have a hard time falling in love with someone and trusting someone , compared to someone that hasn’t experienced that many relationships , that probably would lean more toward falling in love faster with someone. Love doesn’t Usually occur right away , but infatuation can occur immediately, it takes a long time for 2 people to be totally in love with each other , why it’s best to not fall for someone completely right away at least not until the infatuation period runs it’s course. If you are wise , cuz people change their minds all the time. But the thing is you can always love someone but it doesn’t mean you have to be with that someone to still love and care about them

Infatuation and love both cause similar reactions in the body, releasing hormones and endorphins, making it difficult to distinguish between the two.

Plus, you can have both at the same time, be in love with someone and also be infatuated with them.

Age is not part of the equation.

Yet in the end, if you don't even know the person's well and realize they're not even compatible to you outside of the bedroom, that's another time wasted. Ideally it would be great to have both attraction and compatibility, then the relationship is likely to last longer.

Well I assume it is because these people may not have dated a lot or had enough experiences or it could be they never actually experienced a real deep love with someone.. So not everyone handles the initial feelings and stages appropriately. There's no need to come down on them hard. Love or infatuation always feels amazing so its hard to control your emotions and not jump to your own fantasies lol.
I only had 2 boyfriend's and I am 36, so yeah mistakes can happen when you don't deal with guys in a romantic way too often.. Mind you after my second one I stay away from all guys now because he taught me the hard way when you believe guys at their word you are the only one who gets hurt.

it's not related to age... some people aren't patient enough... infatuation is only for some time... so if they take their time and wait and learn more about people they are interested in... they will know...

and there are also people who just want things now and here, and they don't really care about level of emotions... and then they blame their partners if something goes wrong...

exactly. Infatuation is similar to having a major crush on someone, it's an illusion of a perfect image of the person (thinking that all is perfect when it isn't) and not real. Then next thing is they realize the person might not even have anything in common outside of the bedroom.

Because people live different lives, different experiences. They reach their own conclusions following what they experienced. They have different psyche/character/personality to begin with which means they relate to love in a specific, individual way, no matter age or time.

Most people I meet of all ages seem to equate infatuation with love. My friend's mom is in her 60's and says, "You can't choose whom you love" but that is exactly what I do - choose. I do not base it on hormones or emotions, which vary over time, but upon her being a decent person with whom I click and who is worthy of a commitment.

That would be 18-25 year olds. I can't stand younger people. In fact people in their 40s look better then some 20 year olds.
