I think we've all had a crush on someone at some stage in our lives (even if it would never evolve into something meaningful), or been in love with someone but the relationship didn't last.

I've had a couple of both and some girls have made my heart skip many beats. But do you think these feelings eventually fade away over time, or would you say that once you're hooked, you're hooked for life?

For me a lot depends on the factor how the relationship goes. To give you an example

I dated once a guy we was totally in love things where great in the beginning and even if later on but there was problems and i always told him where the problems are and that he need to take care of cause i can't but with the time and my love was more and more fading and the problems got worse i started to not feel the love anymore to continue the relationship so i broke up with him. We are now best friends the problems are still there but they dont affect me anymore since we are not together so yea the Feelings was fading but only for me to maintain a relationship

Not necessarily, only if the other person is hooked on you , and chooses you the same way you choose them , but if one of you decides not to choose the other , then that relationship won’t last the long haul and it’s back to square one of being single. again. I never thought a person could change significantly over time. We are who we are, with our strenghts and shortcomings. Try to change in one direction or the other and the 'real you' will eventually come back.
