Girls, Boyfriend wants space and has ignored me for almost a month. What should I do?

My boyfriend is having problems at work and money wise lately. He called me up yelling at me the other day when he had a bad day at work. He told me that he doesn’t love me, he only likes me. That he doesn’t want to get married or have kids with me and that it makes him mad that I say I love him often. Plus, he hates that I check on him after work to make sure he gets home safe, since his job is dangerous. He just kept yelling and wouldn’t let me get a word in edgewise. During one of the times that I could talk, I asked him if he wanted to break up and he said no, but that he needs space in order to “figure shit out”. He hasn’t talked to me in almost month, even though he is online chatting with everyone else. I don’t know how long he wants “space” for, but I don’t know if I should just break up with him or not. It hurts being ignored for months on end while waiting for him to “figure shit out”. I have a serious illness and with the added stress of not knowing what to do or what he wants, is negatively affecting me. I don’t know if I am being stupid waiting for him or if I need to break up and move on. Help please!!

First of all, the moment he said all that the relationship was over. He doesn’t want to break up because he wants to use you as his emotional punching bag. Don’t let him have that kind of power. Cut contact and block him on everything you can.

I was just confused because he kept saying that he doesn’t want to break up, but I don’t know if he expects me to wait for him for how ever long to figure things out. I am just tired of being ignored and feel like I should be done with it.

That definitely sounds like a breakup. I'd have already moved on. Getting yelled at like that is ridiculous. There's nothing about this guy that seems he's worth waiting for and whatever is going on at work is not a good excuse for the attitude.
