My boyfriend is distant but ask still talks to me. Should I give him space or what do I need to do?

My boyfriend has been distant lately. I try to ask what’s wrong, but he won’t really open up to me. Usually if it’s a problem between us though he will address it directly.
We then both had a bad day. He was put on house arrest after traveling too much outside probation area. The same day, my car was totaled, leaving me at the mercy of my parents to drive me around for a few days but they live in another town. I told him I’m trying my best to get a rental as I can’t stay away from him that long. He said he knows I am and trust him it’s ok that he’ll be there awhile.
The last time I saw him told him I missed him and loved him and he said it back. Said he missed me and loved me the day I wrecked as well. But he hasn’t talked much to me since then. We will still text, but it’s short and he may not always respond when he can’t be that busy.
Also while he still texts me I was deleted from his Snapchat. I have had numerous problems with his ex that still has to come around sometimes sneaking his phone and blocking me from his social media bc she hates our relationship. Today though it was just deleted and he didn’t add me back as usual. I understand if she is helping him get stuff he needs and owns half the house he’s required to stay in. But I wonder if he’s trying to stop any drama she might cause from being nearby by deleting me or what’s wrong.
Again he says he still loves me and misses me and hasn’t brought anything up about us having a problem. I don't know
