In Europe tall women are preferred and seen as the standard of beauty when a man is Rich and powerful he like to date model like women as a trophy wife to show off, many men are shorter than their wife when it come to powerful men here. Sarkozy ex French president also have his wife being taller than him Carla Bruni. Nothing unusual about it, in general if the wife is model like taller and elegant then you can assume the man is pretty powerful / rich.
