We were together for a year. An old neighbour reached out at the beginning of January and he responded. They communicated for 4 weeks without my knowledge. I found out that the night we broke up, he took her out for dinner. He came back the following week wanting to work things out. I have spoken to the “neighbour” and while it sounds like he lead her on for a few weeks, he’s doing everything he can to fix what he’s done with me. My mind is numb and i am not thinking straight! Please let me know what you think.. Why wound he do this? I know men and woman operate differently in terms of “communicating with the opposite sex” men generally want 1 thing whereas woman tend to want more. Help!

Do yourself a favor and do not give him another chance , he was already cheating on you when he was investing his time into your neighbor while being with you and setting things up with her behind your back. Now that things didn’t go as he wanted it to go with your neighbor, he now is trying to get you back? If you take him back , he will eventually do the same thing to you again, once he meets another girl. He doesn’t love you , he loves the convenience of you period. How is it cheating if the two of you weren't together? and does it matter bc in my opinion, the relationship was doomed the first time you broke up. At least one of you already gave up which is why so many relationships don't last. People give up too easily.

You’re right, not technically cheating. But he was messaging her for 4 weeks before we broke up (which i think was the reason for the breakup). We broke up on Friday, he took her to dinner Friday night & city cave on Saturday (she gave him head) and then come Monday he had dropped her and asking me to go to therapy with him and work this out!

If a person cheated or betrayed you in some way, they will do it again. They will never stop.
Generally people cheat to feel better then you. Ergo: to feel better than their partners is their primary goal and there is nothing you can do about that. Personally, you should avoid people as friends or partners who have the mindset "when you bring others down, you go high". Those people are victims of their own instincts and never achieve anything of value.
