1.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic. It really depends on the misunderstanding.
To what level it goes to and what they are talking about.
I am an introvert an Empath I see and I feel things deeper than most people
There's moments in time When I meet somebody. And I can get an.
Instant connection. And when this happens , I feel as if I have known them for over a hundred years
Can I start talking to them like that Because they have been telling me things about themselves Without even saying it or Knowing what they're doing
So I start talking to them as if I have known them that long.. And that's kind of weird
But even like everything I just wrote down.
I know what i'm trying to say , but I don't Think that I projected it the right way
So I am misunderstood a lot of times
It doesn't really hurt me, but it depends on what we are talking about in that moment.
Even on here on gag, I use voice texting. I don't proof read I don't really punctuate.
And sometimes my phone likes to say what it wants to say Instead of what I said
So I think i'm more misunderstood than I would like to be..21 ReplyI totally feel your emotions xx.. good to see some true responses to peoples questions

Anonymous(30-35)1 yI'd say it mainly depends on your beliefs.
As a Muslim, I know for certain that 100% with 0% doubt that it is Allah (God) who will judge me. So I don't care about explaining myself or makes excuses.. etc.
Yet, we also are asked not to do things that would normally be frowned upon without showing the reason.
So, it doesn't merely emotionally hurt as long as result is going smooth. Otherwise it may backfire due to misunderstanding and so people trying to prevent/stop you or disagree.
• Example (1) - [Resulting opposition]
Sultan Abdulhameed in Turkey had his (Intelligence Officers) monitor enemy spies and agents.. then they smeared him saying he is spying on people. Accusing him of what made Edward Snowden leave his position. In this case.. it certainly hurts. And hurt is due to failing the mission.. just for being misunderstood.
• Example (2) - [Personal feeling]
While another Muslim guy in Aghanistan was accused for selling his Muslim brethren.. while he stayed neutral to reduce risks, yet even protected some and sent to Guantanamo due to it.. was crying people misunderstood him being a traitor. In this case, I say it shall not hurt as you did your job and people's mere thoughts and ideas don't truly affect you. You can later clarify or skillfully maneuver like Erdogan's Turkish government.
On a smaller individual level relationship, I think it would put a heavy psychologial burden on you, as well as may get you distant due to been seen inconsiderate at some cases.
So.. as long as you know it doesn't matter in the end, and have the patience to clarify/skill to maneuver with, I think you should not hurt/fail.
As I believe it means you could not present yourself properly.
"Those who don't know how to present themselves are losers. As much as powerful you present yourself, you win and gain".
Does it makes sense?12 Reply

Opinion Owner1 yLol, first time to be asked so here on GAG. I mean why not, since I have the choice.
If you give a solid reason I then may disavow/share.
After all, hope my opinion helps.

Depends what kind of misunderstanding, because those happen when there is a lack of communication and lack of being even ABLE to formulate and stay focused on facts. But yes, if I have spoken clearly and still get misunderstood then I would get hurt... But that is not happening to me anymore due to me raising lots of boundaries.

Asker1 yIt's a good point, but in general what is your feeling would be?
1 yNo because what matters is having a few people who do. Not everyone’s going to understand anyone including me I can’t understand everyone either.
Some people need to understand even the most empathetic of people aren’t mind readers.10 Reply- 1.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
1 yPeople misunderstand me 24/7. Story of my life. It may have been hurtful when I was younger. But as you mature, you realize you can't please everyone. Just be true to yourself.

1 yFor me it could bring a sense of frustration , anxiety and or a little awkwardness if it’s someone close to me. They are the people that should “get me” and they pretty much much always do. I guess there would be a slight fear that the trend would continue.
Outsiders though , well no I generally couldn’t care less.30 Reply This is dependent on many factors. It depends largely on what is being misunderstood, why the misunderstanding persists, the context in which the information is being communicated, and the nature of the relationship with the person misunderstanding.
