First, there's really no difference between men and women for likelihood to cheat.

Most husbands absolutely don't cheat (same with wives).

Cheating husbands was something that used to be quite socially acceptable (the whole idea of "a mistress")

But that died out a long time ago. Guys think their friend is a scumbag if he cheats on his wife (even if they don't express that openly or confrontationally). Its not socially acceptable like it was a century ago. Wives aren't going to put up with that shit any more than a husband would put up with his wife cheating.

So no. This is a very very incorrect notion.

There are definitely types of guys who cheat on their wives. They are a small minority. They have their own views about Love, duty, promises etc. That allow them to cheat and not feel like they're bad people for doing so. (but they are bad people for doing so).

Please do not think anything about this is true.

The kind of guy who would make a decent husband isn't likely to cheat. Cheating has to do with the PERSON, not a "guy" thing at all. Only cheaters cheat. Most people aren't cheaters.
