What are the criteria for you to get settled?

Some of us feel like we don't want to get settled for any one. Like don't want to get married, don't want to be committed, or we tend to want for more and more or the better that's why some people want to keep open relationship. Or some only does dating hook-ups or one night stand or only have friends with benefits. Some never wants to get settled with any single person and choose to stay single.

So what are the criteria for you (possible or not doesn't matter) so that for that you are ready to get settled with only one person for life and ready to give your everything to them happily?

Number one people should only settle when they are absolutely ready. Not only are they hurting themselves in the future but hurting someone who is ready to settle if they pretend like they are.

It is something people have to communicate with one another. Being on the same page on things being compatible. Are your values aligned? Are you able to fulfill one another’s wants and needs? Do you genuinely love and respect one another? If someone’s just wanting someone because they want to get married and have babies. They’re setting that marriage up to fail as well as stringing someone along who deserves better.

1) Be stable financially, and in case she wants children we have a clear agreement of how to raise them well.

2) I despise life and children who resemble a new life, yet I shall perform my duty well by taking care of them.
Yet if she is such a great person to ignore and wants children, I shall fullfill my duties towards them.
So as long as I know there's some way where I can properly raise them with her support until they don't need me, I'll be okay settling right away.

This is my list for what I look for when already in a long term relationship before I’m ready to settle down:

1. Financial stability (for the both of us)

2. Emotional & mental maturity - not still stuck on toxic habits, or keeping toxic company or in contact with an ex (unless co-parenting)

3. Openness & transparency - we’ve openly talked about our pasts, traumas, stupid choices we’ve made, etc. Need to learn the ins and outs of my S. O. to really get to know him

4. We vibe well as a couple and can be fully ourselves with each other

I've *been* settled, so trying to marry again just for the sake of not being alone isn't appealing to me. I can fend for myself. However if someone I loved -- who loved me -- crosses my path I would be open to considering a second marriage. It would take some doing (presumably for both of us, given our ages and experience).
