Guys, Going on vacation with my boyfriend for the 1st time and sharing a bathroom? TMI?

So we've been in a long-distance relationship for 2 years and meeting for the 1st time in a few days. I'll be traveling to his country and meeting him at the airport for the first time! We are both so excited and have been waiting for this day for so long but due to personal circumstances, this is the first opportunity we could do it. So I initially suggested having separate hotel rooms because I didn't want him to feel pressured to share a room with me and in case there was any awkwardness/shyness and I didn't want him to feel obligated to share a very small space with me. Hotel rooms are very intimate and I have always been a very private/shy person when it comes to bodily functions. None of my previous boyfriends have EVER heard me do anything bathroom related.

He insisted that he wanted to share a hotel room with me and said that if I'm not comfortable, we don't have to do it. I agreed because I figured it would give us a good opportunity to understand each other's daily habits and bring us closer together <3 But now I'm starting to worry about how I can be discreet about bodily functions and one of my fears is taking a #2 when he's around or passing gas. I'm genuinely anxious about it. Advice? There's no backing out of this now and we already booked our shared hotel room. Guys, would you judge a girl for going number 2 when you're around and in such close proximity? Are there ways to make it less obvious or cover up what I'm doing in the bathroom? I am considering using the hotel lobby bathroom when I can or waiting when he steps out so I can do it in peace :P

I dont buy this story one drill bit. You've been with him for two years and this is now a concern that has not come up one time in 700+ days? You also claim to be in your thirties. You would think a woman in her thirties would be a little more mature about using the bathroom. I live with my girlfriend in an apartment for over a year. We've been together for about the same amount of time you claim to be with your boyfriend. Guess what? We share the same bathroom and are not close to immature as you both are. You have almost (or potentially) 10 years on us in age. I just can't imagine being in a relationship for as long as you have and this is what is a concern. Smh

What is so hard to believe about people having different comfort levels with bathroom related things? It's not a matter of maturity but how you grew up and the type of household you were in. We have never met before. Is it so hard to believe that you don't want to use the bathroom in front of someone you are dating upon first impression? It is perfectly normal to be nervous about that. Many people don't use the bathroom with their partners until much later in the relationship. You can know someone's personality for years but it's different when it's finally face to face. Glad you and your partner are comfy with the bathroom thing but it's not for everyone and I believe that's perfectly understandable :)

You've got to talk yourself into relaxing about this. You're both adult grownups and he as well as you fart and emanate funky odors and odd noises in the bathroom. It's a fact of living.

Focus on the wonderful experience of meeting each other and being together, not this minutiae.
