Yes , a few of my exes had issues with me being friends’ with certain girls’ and hated it with a passion , so you have to ask yourself what is more important to you? your relationship or your friendship with that girl? Before you answer , put yourself on your girlfriends’ shoes and think how would you feel if she had a close male friend that she was spending a lot of time with? Nope. We aren't jealous of each other that way. My best friend is a guy and he's even visited us a few times (we met online). To further that, my wife and I are poly so I also have a boyfriend. He's not the jealous type either.

I don't think anyone should be insecure enough to try and control their partners that way.

Not my wife, she's freaking amazing, but the woman I was with before her did that constantly. She would even give me an attitude if I was too nice to a waitress or a woman at a checkout counter. No, I have a really good friend from the opposite gender with whom I keep regular contact with. My Partner is very aware of the nature of our friendship and never suggested such thing, however, if he ever feels uncomfortable my relationship with my Partner always comes first and I'll be sure to reassure him.
