For those of you in long relationships or marriages, do you still cuddle with each other or you're only physical with each other when you have sex?

I've noticed that me and my Partner are still very cuddly with each other and I hope it remains that way forever. If we sit together on the couch most of the time we're touching each other even when we're seating on opposite corners of the couch. When we go to sleep we often fall sleep spooning each other but even if we go to bed at different times we'll still touch each other even if it's just with our feet. I find it adorable and think that the fact that we're super attracted to each other helps but I wonder if other couples experience the same. I personally feel closer to my Partner as the years go by.

most of my life I’ve shied away from relationships because I feel like a lot of people are superficial and don’t really take the time and or have the genuine interest to connect to another person… although obviously there are some people that do.

I recognize that after a loooong while.

Although, even within that intellectual and psychological connection- let’s call it a spiritual bond- I would feel estranged without the _physical_ ...

and here I don’t mean sex , I mean physical affection. Yes physical affection s for me, definitely part of sex, but it can also stand on its own, and sometimes must)

For me, without that. honestly, I wouldn’t see any point to a relationship.

I would just think OK there are friendships and I don’t need to like hug and cuddle with my friends…

Sooo a relationship would feel really STRANGE under those circumstances. Whether it was me that didn’t want physical contact or them..

I would find it extremely alienating and very dark and cold, and not an atmosphere that I would want to see any point in subjecting anybody to.

It doesn’t mean I would like jump ship immediately, obviously, there are some physical limitation like they could’ve been touched for whatever medical or something that’s different

but I would definitely see it as a huge issue that could either be solved or couldn’t be solved and we’d have to confront that when it happened.

At the moment, things are relatively new even though it feels like a really really really long time for how well we know each other. And I think being affectionate is so much inherently a part of both of our personality structures and that’s aside from the actual deep affection that we feel towards each other…

I honestly just can’t imagine there simply being no physical affection. Ir rather, At some point there is no desire for that because like I said, maybe something physical happens where there’s a -reason- that contact changes… but not WANTING it, is the feature of interest.

I mean, I really can’t IMAGINE it but if it happened, yeah, that would be a huge deal. And not something that I would see myself acclimating to as I’d that’s just the way life goes.. But on the other hand, I don’t know. I’ve never been to that situation so we’ll see. Haha we’ll see. 😛

We still cuddle, mostly during the colder months tho, he's a radiator, but we fall asleep "separately" since we've different type of duvets/covers. But I usually have a foot scrambled under his duvet/cover so we touch while falling asleep.

We've never been super "affectionate", there are a lot of small touches throughout the day and there has never been and is not a problem with us being attracted to each other.
