My wife had surgery yesterday. When we got home, she pretty much immediately crashed out. While she was sleeping, I set about fixing her piano (synthesizer that looks like a piano with pedals and everything). I spent the afternoon cleaning it off, and repairing the electronics so that when she woke up she could play it if she wanted to. Something she hadn't done in more than a year. I also put our wedding cake topper on it (bride and groom figurines) and bought a new lamp to sit on it so she has good lighting.

When she woke up and saw what I did there were the good kind of tears.

Yeah. Learned a language for a guy I was crazy about back in college, but my conjugations were still a little off so he laughed and made sure I had some extra tutoring, lol. A very nice tutor, that guy.

What was her surgery for (if I may ask)? Is she doing well now?

And no, at least that's not specifically why I do such things. There's Usually a legitimate need, but I do like seeing her appreciation for it.

She had a tooth removed that was broken at the root.. The prior doctor who did the original work fucked up, and left the bone in her jaw weak, plus the original root canals cut into her sinus cavity, so they had to reinforce it and plug the holes from the botched root canal.. Basically it sucked. She slept most of yesterday and a huge chunk of today.

Better than yesterday. It sucks cause she has limits like no straws (can't drink through a straw), no hard foods, no blowing her nose for 4 weeks. Not kidding on that last one, I had to ask the doctor if he was joking. Apparently the pressure from blowing her nose can rupture what he did, and make it so there is a hole from her mouth into her sinus cavity. And she's hurting. According to her doctors, it will get worse tomorrow and then taper off and get better.
