2.7K opinions shared on Relationships topic. If you’ve been rejected someone you should be grown up enough to accept rejection. If you’re disrespectful in rejecting someone you should be ok with being rejected in that manner. If you’re a polite and kind person in rejecting then hopefully you’re only rejected that way as well. And if you’re the lame ghosting type … well, you get what you get.
I’ve never been rejected but perhaps bc I make it a point not to approach a guy. There’s one guy who made a rejection declaration but then chased me around till… yesterday. Guys can be really mentally “unsorted” sometimes and chase what they claim they don’t want.
For me, just be polite and direct so there’s no confusion that they’ll be accepted once they’ve rejected.20 Reply

If I just met someone, asked her out, got a no.
I wouldn’t care. It is what it is, we’re not on the same path in life and that’s fine
If the rejection comes after a first date then I would be going over that date play by play in my mind to find out what I did or didn’t do
But ultimately I would accept the rejection without much of a fuss
The one that hurts is the one after weeks or months of slowly building up to ask someone out and she says no (i. e. friend zone)
This one hurts because it usually means I have a genuine crush on the person
Fortunately the last time I dealt with scenario 3 was almost 10 years ago
These days if I like someone I’m much more upfront about it.
And sure I can still get rejected but either way I won’t sit and pretend that I’m the “bff” while secretly waiting to pounce.

11 moFirst time I was rejected in high school. It was a mess. I didn't have any clue about dating. I asked her to meet me after school to tell her that I liked her. I froze the fuck up. I couldn't get my words out and fumbled so hard. I knew I looked like an idiot in front of her. She responded with something like "I think it's best if we focus on school, but I'm good to be friends."
I didn't take that as a rejection. So I asked her out again after like... a month? Same answer. Then again?
Man when I think back on it, I get really embarrassed at how much of an idiot I was. She was clearly not interested in me and I was a super awkward kid.
In college, I had a little more social tact, and I saw this girl for 2 weeks and was rejected then too.10 Reply
u 11 moOnly once, and he messed with my head for a year before rejecting me. He slept with me, spent time with me everyday, acted like he loved me. But after a year he denied liking me and refused to date me when I asked him out. At that point I was already in love with him, so it truly hurt me. I spent a day drinking wine in my backyard with my best friend and crying about it. And then by the next day I was over it. Stopped hanging around him, stopped sleeping with him, barely spoke to him. Then one night, months later, he got drunk and called me, telling me how much he loves me and misses me, and I was just like “oh ok, goodnight”. Lol.

As a relationship coach, I've seen my fair share of rejections—talk about a humbling experience! Dealing with rejection can sting, but here's the secret sauce: it's all about acceptance and learning. If someone says no, it just means that exciting new opportunities are waiting around the corner. Think of it as the universe's quirky way of saying, "Hey, there's something better out there!" So, keep your head up and your heart open, because love has a funny way of finding you when you least expect it! 😄💕

11 moOf course i have. There are very few people who have ever lived who have never heard the word ‘no’. The more you hear it, the easier it becomes to accept. As a man, i have received more rejection than acceptance in my lifetime. Sometimes it’s their loss. Sometimes it’s mine. I always survive. I always find my way. It’s not a big deal.

11 moSure, I've been rejected more times than I can remember. Can I honestly take no for an answer? Yes, it's not a big deal. I reserve the right to make my own choices about who I want to associate with. I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't respect other people's right to make those same choices. Does it hurt? No, not really. I don't take it personally. I understand that there are countless reasons any given woman might reject me at any given moment in time or any given situation. And one of them may be that she doesn't find me attractive. That's OK. I don't need any explanation. Just a polite "no thank you" or "I'm not interested". I'll wish them a good day or evening with a smile and go back to whatever I was doing. Being a butthurt asshole about it won't change the outcome in any positive way for me and it's a bad look for anyone. Plus I don't want to ruin my day or hers. Life is too short.

11 moYeah, rejection’s tough — everyone goes through it at some point.
I try to accept it by reminding myself it’s not always about me personally; sometimes it’s just about timing or fit.
I’m pretty good at taking no for an answer because I respect other people’s choices and boundaries.
Of course, it still stings, but I try to learn from it and move on without letting it shake my confidence.
How about you?13 Reply- 11 mo
I have never been rejected but I have been made to feel I wasn't good enough when younger by certain family members and at school so I guess that is a form of indirect rejection.
- 11 mo
That sounds really tough. Even if it wasn’t direct rejection, feeling like you’re not good enough from people close to you can leave a lasting impact. It’s important to remember that their opinions don’t define your worth. Over time, focusing on your own growth and the people who truly support you can help heal those old wounds. Also, you look amazing, by the way!

Thank you!!
Anonymous(45 Plus)11 moAnyone who's ever put themselves out there has felt the sting of rejection. So the first part of your question goes without saying. If you're a man, you been rejected.😆
How good am I at dealing with it? I'd say i'm at near expert level. My problem isn't the rejection. My problem is determining the women that are worth being rejected for. Women are Notorious for not putting themselves out there. And while I'm OK with rejection. I'm unwilling to put myself out there for women unwilling to risk ANYTHING. You want me to risk rejection you're going to have to put some skin in the game.
10 ReplyYes I have, relationship wise friendship wise and job wise. But I can’t let it get me down for too long or I won’t be able to keep moving.
Especially when it comes to relationship wise if I get told no when I tell someone I like them and don’t just move on from it I’ll end up like the people who treat everyone horribly because I was rejected. And those people are just sad and lonely…10 Reply3.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I was first rejected when I was 12 when I asked a girl to a dance. It felt like my life was over. I had a choice of either ducking and avoiding the chance of rejection or realize it's not really that bad. I got back in the game and glad I did. Rejection still stings, but it's not the end of the world.

11 moI've taken a few rejections in my lifetime. I generally have no issues and realize people have their own preferences.
No one should take it personal. Just walk away and know you will eventually meet someone that wants you as much as you want them.
Just don't fall into the "lets be friends first" game where they want you to cater to them in hopes one day the answer changes.

11 moOf course I have , I don’t think there could be anyone walking this earth that hasn’t experienced rejection in some form. To be “alive” is to experience rejection in other words
As far as being “good” at accepting it , well why do I have to be good at it? Is that just all rejection?
Some no’s need challenging , some absolutely shouldn’t be and those demand immediate acceptance10 Reply - 3.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
11 mowhen younger got some painful ones. I respect the girls for being so immediate and direct... in hindsight. much better than dragging someone on.
I take it as matter of fact at that time and space and reality, and take it for the good it is. who knows what that person is really like.

11 moOof... I HAVE been rejected and unfortunately I'm NOT good at accepting/dealing with it due to severe mental and emotional issues... DEFINITELY led me down to an even deeper depression than I was already feeling...
Taking no for an answer however, great at that, no need it being pushy. Not taking no for an answer can become borderline harassment, or even just simply ACTUAL straight up/flat out harassment if it persists even more.
10 ReplyIt's not easy to get a 'no' from someone who you think is special. It happens and one learns to accept it. It still sucks.
I have also been rejected at job interviews, sometimes because I didn't meet the standards, sometimes because they thought I was overqualified. You have to realize it's a selection process and that you can't win every time.
10 Reply614 opinions shared on Relationships topic. @thegreenyogi Painful yes, but not a huge deal.
What we do see is how some psychopaths/ sociopaths, cold blooded murderers deal with it. They BUTCHER, the person that rejected them, and all of her friends, (butcher beyond recognition -by the way) and are then are such a fucking coward, they do not want to 'confess' their insane reasoning for the butchery.
If that doesn't send a cold chill through every woman that rejects a man's advances?
10 Reply562 opinions shared on Relationships topic. I've never asked apart from my wife and she didn't even grasp the question at the time but all my relationships jöhave been kind of mutual or women asking me.
How would I react to rejection? I'd say "fair enough. I can respect your bad decisions. Good bye"
10 ReplyHave i ever been rejected? - Yes! Can i take no for an answer? - Yes. Only problem i have with that is as soon as i pick someone else then they wanna come back. Like wtf? So it just look they want me to be unhappy, so i have to block them / get rid of them

But my ex cheated with my maid when i was young, that worse than being rejected 😄10 Reply
11 moNo, but I’ve been gaslit into thinking I was rejected. A man showing up in my life, kissing my feet etc. isn’t rejecting me. I mean what is he supposed to do next? I simply don’t want a dog but rather someone who walks side by side.

Sometimes they come back once they find I pay the best, the market improves or the need to free up capital grows10 Reply If you've ever put any effort into dating, then you've almost surely been rejected by someone before. No one was particularly harsh about it, so no big deal.
10 ReplyWe've all been rejected. All you can do is accept the fact that they don't like you or want you and you have to move forward.
All you really can do is give them space and time, if they come back great. If not so be it. Life is short.
