How do I know if this boy I've been friends with for like several years likes me?

okay so I've known thus boy pretty much since we were little. We grew up together and we hang out a lot. I dont know if he sees me as like.. a little sister, or a close friend or something more. We're both currently 16. so first i can say that he dropped everything just to hangout with me on my birthday. then he just invited himself to my birthday sleepover. He also doesn't take no for an answer when i tell him my dad says he csnt sleep over. also, he let me fall asleep in his bed. he puts his legs on me? but something that throws me off is he talks about other girls infront of me. I've been told its to get a reaction. he also sends me insta reels about me being his "homegirl" and i mean like yeah we've been friends for forever so maybe he just doesn't want to ruin it. But i catch him looking at me a lot. He sleeps over all the time. I'm close with most of his family. His dad is my dad's best friend. We have family game nights at his house for gods sake. I dont wanna ruin it by asking what he feels. He also tells me personal things a lot. Things you wouldn't tell someone you're not extremely close to. He also almost always answers the phone even if he's with his friends. he's really protective of me and doesn't really like the guys i date. however we're so different, its hard for me to imagine him liking me and i think thats where most of my doubt comes from.

I forgot to mention he lowkey like leaves me on opened sometimes. we stay up on the phone until like 3 am. And he's way more chatty in person than on text. He makes fun of me for stuff and i can't tell if its like in a brotherly way or a flirty way
