Feel free to share you're experience or how you feel about it?

It's not about being 'better' or worse; it's about what the experience forces you to confront. The feeling of being alone, of being a 'stranger' to the world, is a real one. It's an experience of being spiritually 'dead.' The point isn't to find someone to love you and end the loneliness. The point is that this feeling of being cut off forces you to confront yourself. It forces you to find the love and security that you thought you needed from the outside world. You have to find the source of love within yourself. When you do that, you stop being a 'stranger' in the world and find a deep, inner security and wholeness that no external relationship can provide.
Thanks for sharing ๐๐ป
Yes I can be happy alone but why when you can be happier not alone. Sure happier comes with also feeling negative emotions too. But the ups and downs make a roller coaster fun.
To know love and choose to be happy without it is like to decide you don't want to drive a car because you can grow all your food at home without going anywhere. Sure you can do that to live but you miss out on sooooo much because you choose to settle with yourself upu might be happy but you also know you could have been happier... I always choose the most for myself even if to be happier also means to feel more sadness.
Good insight, thanks for sharing
I am happy living alone but I was very happy living with my late boyfriend.
Remember it's never too late to meet someone and fall in love and be happy. I was 62 and he was 59 when we met. And he was a totally a surprise 😮 because I wasn't looking for a love relationship and thought at the age of 62 that part of my life waa over.
We just never know when the love bug is going to bite us.🙂
Send me one of these bugs miss sage, i know that you love wrapping things, so wrap one for me and send it over haha

I am of the opinion that we only have one life and for me it's pointless living the one life have in company of someone who makes me unhappy just for the sake of not being alone. And right now I choose me, myself and I until the one person that makes me deliriously happy comes along. So to answer your question
Thanks for sharing, so it's okay for you to never be in love and to never get married, you can either ways be happy, right?
Yes of course. I am a firm believer of that. I think it's important to not loose sight of the fact that being in love or getting married are not the only things that make you get up and live. You can find another life purpose even if love doesn't come your way. So yes you can be happy even without love or marriage.
That's good, you're lucky because you were built like that...
Thank you!
You're welcome

Maybe satisfied is a more accurate term than happy.
There have been times in my life (after my divorce, for example) when I was satisfied to be alone, at least for awhile.
I know how you're feeling and it's true, feeling content and satisfied, not happy!
I am mostly happy most of the time. I do occasionally need to distract myself from creeping loneliness. It always passes.
@chazmatazz269 I really like the use of the beach stock photo - @tonymetal___86 the stock photo guy is happy as a pig in mud - and thankfully before the tide ๐
@tonymetal___86 This question sounds like it was made all just for me and my ego - The Nicholas is very pleased 👀
and yes, I'm very grateful to all deities 🌌 (surely numbers and odds wise, a vast galaxy of galaxies, there must've been or is out there, a deity - at least surely one hahahaha lol) 😅💦 - I live a humble, quiet life. Some may say the secret to world peace โ๏ธ 🕊๏ธ is just that Eddie Murphy acceptance in 2023 "pay your taxes, mind your business and don't mention Mrs Smith" 🙂😄
Which I paraphrased obviously the 2023 Golden Globes comments by Eddie Murphy , the first two keys ๐๐ are so true , the keys to success are pay your taxes, mind your own business ๐ ๐ and be a good human being, recognising you're in a society of equal fellow human beings โ๏ธ

So you don't have any problem growing old without having a relationship?
@tonymetal___86 well sir - I didn't ask for my phimosis condition in life, as far as I'm aware lol from previous life's karma who knows. Lol - then long delays with employment over the 20s, Covid happened for a good 2-3 years worldwide there - and so on. You know. You blink and you're early 30s and you sometimes think 'wow the time just flew by' - and also the other humbling reality of "it is what it is' - and the other great one liner - sex, is just sex.
@tonymetal___86 some may even say they love their internet connection, or their smartphone, or their chocolate cake more than "having intimacy with a partner" - lol especially the yo-yo of personality dynamics and good days bad days "bitchy women attitudes" and 'wandering eyes cheating men" lol ๐๐ - I just was showing that how you know, for all folks, and I'm straight, no bisexuality and no homosexuality, have their flaws
@tonymetal___86 so I guess some may say, or I could even have perspective to say, "well, maybe I'm a luckier person, for being as I'm how you see, and how life is going for me, single, minimal to no debt, and usually no partner or offspring to weigh me down" ๐ because you know, even a girlfriend can be not all its cracked up to be - hell, imagine how many folks out there complain about time wasted if there's infidelity or even just plain grew out of love ) found someone hotter and lamented settling too early - I could go on and on listing. Lol ๐ have a good day
It could always be worse - I live by that line.
The things that you have mentioned are real, for someone who has a successful marriage, he'll advice you to make a step forward and that life is an adventure and if you're not willing to take it than your life would become boring and useless...
For someone who had suffered from all the things that you have mentioned and got divorced, he will tell you that you're smart and that you're the luckiest guy in the world, just life for yourself and make yourself happy, no one deserves it more than you... etc
As you can see, it's all about how we see things in life and how we are trying to handle them, it's all about personal choices and some luck too!
Anyways, it's always good to feel content, satisfied and accepting ourselves in any cureent situation that we are in right now...
@wonderingmanii and if a person ever needs it, there's never any shame in seeking free counselling from a professional counsellor (not me) offline or people seeking affordable therapists
Right ๐๐ป
can't blame a man for thinking ๐ the big thoughts - lol ๐
Hehe
@tonymetal___86 thanks Tony. What about yourself? I mean you're 39 - you sound like you're a man of good cheer - no women catching on the fishing line? Or been there done that and enough ex's?
Here's some fishing emojis aka emoticons in old speak - ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ ๐ฃ
I can't say that it's done but you can say that i'm not doing any efforts to be in a new relationship, plus sometimes i crave for a relationships with a girl the way i dreamed of but on the other hand reality can be different and makes you regret the moment you wished for to be in a relationship, so tbh with you, i'm lost, a part of me will answer you that i'm done, no way for a new adventure and another part of me will answer you: yes i still want to be in love and get married because sometimes life can make you feel so lonely without having someone to share your emotions with, without someone telling you i love you, taking care of you when you're sick and sharing with you the small things in life that you do as a daily routine... etc
Yes, been there done that, divorced from 5 years, seperated from 11 years, was married for nearly 9 years...
I have only been in two relationships in my whole life, i'm about to hit 40 in February hehe not a stud anymore!
@tonymetal___86 wow you've been through it all ๐ฒ - say since you've actually "lived" the experiences ; what was the wedding like? Religious? Not religious? Big crowd? Small crowd? No regrets on the type of wedding or?
@tonymetal___86 ๐น๐ถ ๐ ๐
It was a religious wedding yes, in a catholic church, the people who had attended the wedding were like 50 at max i guess...
I have no regrets on the wedding, but a regret on my ex who was a liar and never kept her promises!
Plus i paid for everything, it wasn't like she paid for anything as other couples, the entire wedding and honeymoon was on me, i was okay with it and never even thought about it, i just wanted to be happy and made sure that others are happy too but now after nearly two decades, yes i regret being a very good person towards people who doesn't deserves it...
I'm single, but I'm hardly without love and care. I have a lot of people who care about me. I'm just devoid of romance. And that's ok. Not ideal, but OK. After a certain point you just accept it. I may be without romance. But I'm also without someone pretending to be distant to punish me. I have went through some life shredding divorce either. So you gotta take the good with the bad. I think people who are single sometimes romanticize being in relationships too much. It's not all peaches and cream. In fact a lot of it is downright unpleasant.
Well said but personally i still miss having the relationship that i have always wanted!
Before i met my wife I was mostly happy just hanging out with my friends , travelling around, going swimming in the ocean and driving around in my International Scout.
However I knew that something was missing and I knew that being alone at night was not the way I wanted to live my life.
Thanks for sharing and you did the right thing๐๐ป
I would be very unhappy if I had to live life like that. But some people of all genders choose to live that way, and thatโs a valid choice for them personally.
Thanks for sharing
I knew from the minute I saw her i wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. We've been married for 30 years and it seems like just yesterday we got married
That's what love is all about ๐๐ป
I'm a grown man so I don't need anyone to care for me and I love myself and feel fulfilled in my life with God.
A good woman and love from her is a bonus for me, not necessarily a need for me to feel happy.
That's good
I am content not necessarily happy still looking for that special someone but till then I'm somewhat happy
๐๐ป๐๐ป
You're welcome ๐
Yes, Tony but I have a very special dog and her name is Cookies & Creme. She is white with a few black spots.
Nice ๐๐ป
For the most part I am happy with how my life alone is going.
Good for you ๐๐ป
No because I have no friends, and I feel like I have no purpose.
You have a purpose but you might not be aware of it yet, don't be sad about not having friends, these days it's very rare to find one single loyal friend...
At least you're living in peace, you might feel lonely and sad sometimes but better than having someone who will stab you behind your back...
I'm good with being alone, I'm used to it now. But I do have a cat, so I've got her.
๐๐ป๐๐ป
yes its so peaceful never having to talk to someone or have to be with someone 24/7, i love it!
It's good that you have found peace in this way...
i didn't find it, it was always there. not everyone needs someone 24/7โค๏ธ
No, my life mostly sucks, I've never been in a relationship.
Life ain't only about relationships, i don't think that your life sucks, plus this ain't the end of the world, what if after all this time, you will find your dream lady...
Well, all of my loves were unrequited, I wonder if I'll ever meet my dream girl... maybe she lives on another continent...
No one knows how things will work for us, just keep your hopes up and maybe tomorrow will be your day ๐
I hope so, thanks for the support :)
You're welcome, don't think that i'm so different from you, i guess that we are on the same boat, let's just hope that the upcoming days will bring some joy and happiness for us ๐
Kinda but not really
Hope that things gets better for you
"Cast down your bucket"
What does it means ๐ค
Cast down your bucket where you are" is a famous metaphor from a speech by Booker T. Washington in 1895, urging people to find prosperity and opportunity by cooperating and cultivating relationships locally, rather than looking elsewhere for solutions. In the speech, Washington advised African Americans to build their lives and businesses in the South by working with white Southerners, and he told white Southerners to value and utilize the labor and potential of the Black community.
The metaphor itself comes from a story about a ship that, desperate for water, was told to "cast down your bucket where you are" and found fresh water from the nearby Amazon River.
Nice ๐๐ป
I am verry happy.
That's good but are you single or married or what?
I'm not even a person tbh 😄
What do you mean? ๐ค
